who the heck cares if she had sex before marriage...

isn't it odd that the liberal left is all up in arms about this?

Well, if this thread is even a small indication, it would appear that they're not. I think most people see this as a non-story.

Most of those in Obama's camp have common sense. Only those that don't see this as an issue.

Palin life prior to running for office .... is her business....people change...and maybe, she like to have her knickers down in her youth...and prior to marriage......

and didn't we all...?

those were the good old dayz... :innocent:

Well, just wanted to say that no we "all" didn't.

As for this thread, Symbiosis is just posting a bunch of threads lately trying to make every aspect of McCain or Palin look bad. As shown in the responses, you don't even need to be a fan of Palin to know this thread is ridiculous. As for making one political party look bad all the time, I hate to tell you that a lot of the politicians are the same behind the scenes, no matter what party they are from. If there were a party in which all actually believed what they tell us, pigs would fly too. Some may really care and really believe, but we have seen the politicians from both sides change their minds(changing your mind is fine) or just go along with something(not fine) just to get more votes.

Sort of like lapel pins. How many people actually care?

I will say that one was spectacularly ridiculous - along with the stuff about whether or not he puts his hand over his heart, and the stuff about his wife and the "terrorist fist jab".

No, we all didn't and not everyone didn't because they were worried about what god might think either.

Sure, the right has it's own share of nut cases just like this thread shows how the left has nut cases. The difference it that the lefts nut cases mantras has been been amplified by the press and the blogisphere. It isn't playing very well with most of the country and is one of the reasons why McCain is up 10 points in todays Gallup/USA today poll. The backlash has come. The left should tell people like this to STFU, it's going to cost you the election.

The news is about ratings, which is why I suppose these things seem important when they're actually not. It does no favours to either side. Although I'm sure that they are lunatics on either fringe who see lapel pins, flag-burning, Palin's births and Karl Rove's double-speak as hugely relevant, the majority are still just trying to put food on their table.

There is a widespread perception that those who advocate sex education programs do so from a self interested perspective. I was wishing to point out that even those who do not believe in god, or religion do not always think having sex as a teenager is necessarily a good or wise choice although it is an understandable one.

I agree. I think (and already thought this) that to become president, the nominees have to do things they don't want to or think is important in order to get votes. It's not good but somehow it always happens. If Obama felt so strongly that he didn't need to wear the pin, he shouldn't have started to. But then he might lose votes. If McCain really thought there should be a clean competition with no smear ads or attack ads, he should've stuck to that, but then he(or his campaign) noticed how without attack ads, you apparently look weak to people(same happened to Obama). So while I do support McCain and get annoyed seeing the usual attacks on Republicans as a whole by some people, I don't deny that these people who run for President, on both sides, end up giving up some of their own views and catering to others in order to get votes. If they don't, they don't seem to get elected. They need support from broad bases and not just one group that might agree with them on everything. So it leads to compromising on both sides, and we almost encourage it election after election.

No, I didn't think you did, but you did think my pointing it out was odd. It might be a bit odd, I don't know but I do get a little peeved when people accuse atheists of being hedonists (not you, just the generic people). That is one possibility of course, but it's just not inevitable.

I wasn't saying that to be feisty...I agree that even if Palin did that it's not like it's so uncommon, but not everyone has done the same things.
