Green Card before AP, EAD?

Hi everyone, we got an email saying the letter welcoming the new permanent resident is on its way! We are happy to have the green card coming soon, but there is still no sign of the EAD and AP. I know we won't need those if we have the green card, but still wondering if anyone else received the green card before getting their AP and EAD.

06/21/2007 - petition mailed....finally

07/09/2007 - NOA1 (hard copy 07/11/2007)

11/13/2007 - NOA2...127days after filing (hard copy 11/17/07)

12/22/2007 - packet 3 rec. (12/28/2007 returned)

01/11/2008 - medical (allergic to tetanus shot, requirement waived)

02/05/2008 - interview @ 10am - APPROVED!!!!!!

03/12/2008 - Flying Glasgow - Dublin - Chicago - Omaha

05/31/2008 - WEDDING

AOS

07/31/2008 - AOS and EAD finally mailed

08/02/2008 - Delivered

08/08/2008 - Check cleared

08/11/2008 - NOA1's for AOS and EAD recieved (reciept date 08/07/2008)

08/16/2008 - Biometrics letter recieved

09/09/2008 - Biometrics at 1pm, Omaha

09/26/2008 - AOS transferred to CSC

09/29/2008 - AOS touched (took out envelope at CSC and put in new pile)

10/03/2008 - AOS touched (probably that RFE coming soon!!!!)

10/06/2008 - AOS touched AGAIN!!! (surely it's an RFE)

10/15/2008 - EAD CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!!!!YEY!!!

10/27/2008 - EAD IN HAND

01/12/2009 - AOS touched

01/26/2009 - Email from CRIS. GREENCARD PRODUCTION ORDERED..YIPPPPEEE

I'll second fwaguy's comment.

I can remember having consular interview for employment-based GC concurrent with a TN-1 petition--which my then-employer's HR person had filed rather late, leaving me in "limbo". I went to Montréal in Dec. 1999, had the interview on 12/13 and activated the GC (I-551 stamp) at Dorval's PFI later the same day. I then took a trip to India from 1999/12/24 to 2000/01/14 using the I-551 for US reentry, and received the plastic card around 2000/01/28.

I then received approval of the late-filed TN-1 petition on 2000/02/12 (when it was utterly meaningless)!

2005/07/10 I-129F filed for Pras

2005/11/07 I-129F approved, forwarded to NVC--to Chennai Consulate 2005/11/14

2005/12/02 Packet-3 received from Chennai

2005/12/21 Visa Interview Date

2006/04/04 Pras' entry into US at DTW

2006/04/15 Church Wedding at Novi (Detroit suburb), MI

2006/05/01 AOS Packet (I-485/I-131/I-765) filed at Chicago

2006/08/23 AP and EAD approved. Two down, 1.5 to go

2006/10/13 Pras' I-485 interview--APPROVED!

2006/10/27 Pras' conditional GC arrives -- .5 to go (2 yrs to Conditions Removal)

2008/07/21 I-751 (conditions removal) filed

2008/08/22 I-751 biometrics completed

2009/06/18 I-751 approved

2009/07/03 10-year GC received; last 0.5 done!

2009/07/23 Pras files N-400

2009/11/16 My 46TH birthday, Pras N-400 approved

2010/03/18 Pras' swear-in

Can happen, we filed for AOS last year before July 30 (Rate Increase and when EAD/AP/AOS were separate fees), and opted not to file for EAD or AP, we were approved for green-card in less than 4 months, so it would have been a waste of $$ for us to file EAD/AP.

Again It can happen to get AOS approved before the interim benifits.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Ok, thanks. Does anyone know if they would continue to process the EAD and AP or would they stop working on it and assume we will wait for the GC? We have been anxiously awaiting the AP to make a trip back to the UK and hoped we would have it before now.

Why would they... anything approved at a later date will not get to your mail box sooner....

Continue to wait it could take up to a month( 30 days) for you to receive it. Your still in that time frame.

AOS Process

May 29th 2008- AOS/EAD/I-130 Sent to Chicaogo Lock Box sent via Overnight Delivery

June 6th - Both checks cashed!!

June 25th - Biometrics appointment

Sept. 19th - Card Production Ordered! (113 days since filing)

Sept. 25th - EAD Received!!!

Dec. 5th 2008 - Received appointment letter

Feb. 4th 2009 - AOS Interview (Interviewer says going to recommend for approval)

May 15th- called and talked to an officer to submit a service request

June 10th- Made an infopass appointment,

June 15th- Info pass appointment, told me they could do nothing until the officer made their decision!

June 27 - Filed for I-131 as well as renewal of my work authorization.

July 23rd- Received I-131

Dec 22, 2009 - Biometrics appointment yet again.

January 21, 2010 Second interview

January 22nd - I-485 Touched

January 27th - Received a Request for additonal evidence.

May 27 I-485 Approved

June 13th 2010 - Green card received!
