For Everyone Who is Waiting..........

Okay.... I am going to try and say this in a way that NOBODY takes in a BAD way........I just wanted to share something with all of you...something that was recently said to me by my sister......Okay she loves me and at first it kinda annoyed me but then I REALLY started to think about what she said and it actually made me feel just a little bit okay with the waiting..............

Well...one night I was crying to my sister and telling her how much I missed my sweetheart, how angry I was with the damn system and how tired I was of waiting.

This was her response:

"Kim, on 9/11 we were hit with a major terrorist attack and hundreds of people lost their lives.........we live in a Country that "tries" to protect us.......I know you are waiting and it is frustrating but if you really think about it, 6/8/10 months to check people and make sure that you, your kids, and all Americans are safe is just a small sacrifice that you have to take to make sure everyone is kept safe. We sure do not want them to start flying these things through and not checking carefully...Otherwise, we are placing everyone at risk. So....we know how hard it is to wait and to have patience but PLEAZZZ think about how small this time is compared to the bigger picture........the wait will soon be over and you will spend the rest of your life together but just try to be happy that we live in a Country that tries to protect us"

Sooo......I was all pissed at first but she really did have a point.......so after I thought about it....I started to calm down and it made the anxiety a little better...I am STILL waiting but with better mind frame.....

If you think this is making you any safer, you need to stop drinking the koolaid and join a place we like to call reality. It's pretty rough, and things aren't always fair or explaining away by cute words like 'safety' or 'terrorism', but it's a good place to be overall.

No offense taken...I was just trying to somehow "share" something with all my fellow VJ friends that are in the same boat as me. This helps make my current wait a little less unbearable and I always love hearing things from others that may help me......this was my point.......so the 12 million undocumented individuals is a totally different subject matter all together...so......I think the point was missed.....

And when the love is true, we can wait. We are strong enough to wait and feel happy because we will be with our loved one for the rest of our lifes.

We wait because it is necessary. Your sister is completly right. My fiance is the USC and to be with him is all that I want. We have been waiting for being together for a long time and this really show us how much we love each other. So, I feel happy for this.

When you feel sad, think God is always with you. Time is passing so fast and pretty soon you both will be together. And all of us that are waiting will be with our loved one.

I can surely sympathize with trying to justify the agonizing wait that each of us is forced to endure. But to say that the wait is serving a higher purpose of protecting our country is a bit of a stretch, especially when there are clear ways that the government could be protecting us, but have chosen not to.

Of course, that is my personal opinion. And that is why the "911 argument" doesn't hold water for me.

If some people can find comfort in it, however, I believe we need all the comfort we can get around here.

I think the point is that it might do us a bit of good to try to keep it all in perspective if at all possible. This is a big fat horrible glitch in the process and we are all super pissed off and seeing red. I agree - I cannot even comprehend the incompetence of USCIS. But if we can, in some small way, put it in perspective and look at the bigger picture (i.e. this is xxx number of months out of our entire future lives together) maybe we'll feel a tiny bit better. Sometimes taking a step back does help.

Thanks kitkat.....this was exactly what my point was.....I was not justifing anything and believe me....I was kinda pissed at my sister at first until I really thought about it....... and it does seem like a small chunk of time in the overall "big picture" of things.....

This kind of mile wide but inch deep thinking is exactly why USCIS is so f'ed up. Because the appointed inept flunkies running the place have no accountability to serve the citizens. The citizens are taken in by thier spew that "daddy government" is there to "protect" them! Get a clue and enter reality. Might want to turn off the TV too...

Ask your sister how many 9/11 hijackers were here on fiance visas? Then ask her if she has any clue how easy our borders are to cross? Might want to guide the little woman to a map and let her examine the Canadian border for example.

Those who are willing to give up their freedoms deserve none! Your sister deserves to live in Russia. Or maybe Iran- they have a nice, protective government...
