Have a quick question that my K1 addled brain can't seem to locate anywhere else here.... ;)

Question 10 on the I-129F where it asks for the petitioner's birth certificate number, place, and date of issue...further down the page it asks if the petitioner has obtained any certificates of citizenship in their name...we assumed that meant a passport.

Now we're wondering if that certificate of citizenship question is even relevant to the petitioner, since he's already provided his birth certificate details. (And because of the checkbox marked "parent".)

Could someone please clear this up? Thanks.

(Sorry if this is horribly obvious, but my brain is seriously fried after three straight days of preparing everything needed.)

If he got USC from Birth in the US that's all you check. The rest are N/A!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

If your petitioner was born in the US, then he would have a birth certificate number, if not put N/A for (not applicable). For place of birth, and date of issue of birth certificate then fill those info in..

If your petitioner was naturalized by parents then most likely he will have Certificate of Citizenship. Meaning, he was born outside the US, and his parents became US Citizens and as a dependent he would have gotten a USC document too. If he was born in the US and filed for N600 then he too would have a Certificate of Citizenship. US passport although proves US Citizenship is NOT the "Certificate of Citizenship". If he does not have this "Certificate of Citizenship" then put N/A. Most USC do not have their "Certificate of Citzenship" as it is a waste of time and money to file for one (USCIS charges like $460), especially if he/she was born in the US and has birth a US birth certificate.

I am still confused...

In question#10, we checked the box-birth in the US.

What should we answer on this question? -- have you obtained a cert of citizenship in your name? Should we check NO or do we just leave it blank??

Well on the example it says you only provide a cert number if you obtained citizenship through naturalization. So I would leave it.

We have already checked the 'No' box on this question..is it ok to white-out this box? or is checking 'No' still correct?
