Its been suggested that i visit this woman who used to be employed at the local hospital doing what ever it is she does, before branching out on her own. i can't remember if she was called a holistic or alternative therapist but the person who suggested her, is a paitient, and very pleased with what she does. apprently she doesn't do accupunture herself but advocates it and refers people to someone else, if that gives you a better idea of what this woman does. cos it sure he$$ doesn't give me much . the reason behind this is i want to get an alergen test done to work out what causes my exzema. and this lady apparently did this for this person. so asked how she did it, ( was thinking needles, i hate needles) but this is the answer i got,

she gives you a probe to hold in one hand and puts a clip with a small stud on your toe, and puts a small electric current through you.

apparently this lady can determine your alergies, if your stressed, over tierd, poor circulation and what not, not solely by this electric method but i'm not sure what else she does, and it would cost me about £35 for a one hour consoltation.

but how can she determine what i'm alergic to, by electrocuting me?

has anyone else heard of or had this done? how on earth would this work? i didn't fully understand from explanation i was given.

I have no other advice to give other than STAY AWAY. That sounds so insane and not scientific at all. Probe and electrical current?

I've used homeopathics, herbal remedies, and used supplements over the years...usually referred to as alternative medicine or alternative therapy and have benefitted from them. However, THIS sounds like total BS to me. IMHO this sounds alot like Iridology...where they claim they can look into your iris and tell you all the things wrong with you and/or what illnesses you suffer from. IMHO I would stay away!

thats what i thought. i'm just conffussed because the person who goes to her is a very smart person, and that this lady was employed to do whatever she does by our local hospital. hmmm maybe i'll just ask our nurse about an alergen test how ever they do it.

It sounds to me that the person you saw or is refering you to might indeed be using the NAET therapy.

I work with an anasthesiologist whos husband is a chiropracter and has an associate in his office that does this. the anasthesiologist is being treated by him now and is getting very good results.

thats why i'm tempted to try it. i know what they will say do if i go to the nurse, it will either be put some moisteriser on it, heres some hydrocortazone, or its prob an infection, doesn't work, not putting that on my eye thank you, not that it works that well, and no it isn't. i just don't want to pay a lot of money on something that has no hope of helping, so i asked to see if i was missing something.

I personally have alot of seasonal allergies.. I have at my office.. which I swear by.. a homeopathic formula that is called a allersode. They're not actually needles,they are these small stamp like things with little prickly things on them.
