OF 169 Form

From reading the of 169 form this is for the embassy. Does tis need to be submitted to NVC and they give it to the embassy. Or is this something she needs to fill out anf forward to the embassy when the time comes when she gets it in the mail. I am confused about this one.

Does this need to be filled out in english with her signature in Chinese? When does part 2 of the DS 230 get submitted at the interview? Or will she have to mail it to the embassy?

There is an english and a chinese copy of the form. I believe the english is done in english and the Chinese is done in Chinese but I am not 100% sure about the chinese since I can't read it. They both might be done in english. What I did was send it to my wife with just the english part checked off and told her to fill in the Chinese form the same way based on the Chinese instructions.

DS-230 Part II is submitted during the medical exam in China. Instructions are provided with Packet 4. Don't do anything with Part II until after you receive packet 4.

i would think since the 169 goes to the NVC I would put here sigature in Chinese and her address in english. Thanks for the information on part two I can have her hold there until she must submit it. I am sure I must do the same for my step son and he is only 15. We are both on about the same timeline. Who know maybe we will see each other in China during the interview process. I plan to go and support my wife during the interview and I am sure it will look good on us as well.

I thought about going for the interview but money is tight and if all goes well she want me to come during the Chinese New Year to bring her to the US. The signature on the English section should be in english. The only place on OF-169 where they might be chinese is on the chinese copy of the form.

It is my understand it should be like her passport already is. Besides she can not sign our last name in chinese because it does not translate.

Sign using the english phonetic. My wife used the english letters for her name to make her signature. She will need to get used to signing in english anyway. You must have put her name in english on the I-130. She should use that to make her signature.

WELL I KNOW ON THE DS 230 SHE MUST SIGN IT THE WAY IT IS ON HER PASSPORT. SO IS IT OK TO SIGN THE 169 IN ENGLISH AND SUBMIT THEM BOTH SIGNED BOTH WAYS? SHE CAN WRITE HER ENGLISH NAME FINE. I would write it in the same way as I-130 or passport. Next to it put your signature with "On behalf of". That way you are signing on behalf of your minor son. That should cover you.

Thanks stay in touch because we are both o the same timeline. I read today that it may take for us us to three months to get an interview after the NCS process. I am thinking this is getting to suck for us.

Yes China is about 3-4 months right now for interview. I figure my wife's interview will be end of December or Begining of January and I will be able to bring her to US at the end of January for the Chinese New Year.
