Good morning all! It's been kinda busy around here w/ hurricane clean up. Went to our house yesterday w/ the generator (still no power) and while hubby vacuumed and mopped the floors, I scrubbed the refrigerator & freezer as well as the outside freezer - almost like new! The yard is looking better. Most of the debris has been removed (& is now sitting in front of the house for the city to pick up). There are just some huge stumps to be dealt w/. The one tree that uprooted got kinda "pushed back into place" for the trunk/stump w/ all the roots & stuff to fill in the hole it pulled up. I really hope we get power soon. I'm going to try to start doing some house calls this week if any of my clients want some work.

Have a great Sunday (I've been forgetting what day it is w/ no schedule to follow).

Nawal, I love Egyptian Boy - especially about the mom throwing things! The other thing I loved was the picture of Jesus in the background - and not just the image of Jesus in the white flowy robe - but Jesus crucified! Good Coptic Christian that he is. Reminds me so much of my ME Christian friends - every image was Jesus crucified...never a loving image of the Lord - but nailed to the cross. I can still recall my friend's mother got upset with him when he did something "bad" - she backhanded him infront of everyone and then pointed to the images of Jesus and said, "You see Jesus - he died for you!!! When you sin you hammer new nails in Him!!!"

morning MENA...baby woke 2 times last night...VERY unlike him as he has been sleeping 12 hours straight thru for the past 3 weeks or so...we were out late at my brothers and i commented at about 9pm saying we better get home before i ruin the babies schedule, and, i am now biting my tongue..figures...

tomorrow zaid will go to the new babysitter..i have been having nightmares about it for the past 2 days...he has had 2 previous sitters but it was family, and now, he is going to a perfect stranger..im tore up about it..im pretty sure ill be a wreck tomorrow...i dont know what i can say or do that will calm my nerves...

Ok guys I have to vent this, because I am losing it here. Why do people think Obama is a Muslim? Of course he is not, but even if he was a Muslim, what does that have to do with running for President of the United States? What happen to separation of church and state, I guess the constitution doesn’t mean anything anymore to the people. The outright prejudice of Muslims is nasty in this country. I am not religious at all, but in this country, I thought that we can have our own personal faith without prosecution, but maybe I was wrong, because I just saw some videos my daughter sent me and they were asking people about Obama, and they were saying he was raised Muslim, I am like WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THE ELECTION??????? I also heard from some people his name is not WHITE ENOUGH. I am really shocked at the ignorance of a lot of people. The funny thing and the sad thing is that the poor man is Christian, and his own people are calling him a Muslim. I guess if you are Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, and just plan atheistic, you are not really an American. Sorry about this rant, but I hate people who hate someone just because of a religion or culture, I thought we came a lot farther than that, but I just feel like slapping some of these people. I just want a president that can get America back on track, if it is through a Muslim, so be it, because we should have separation of church and state, but as we all know since the Patriot act the constitution just doesn’t guarantee your rights anymore. Ok, done with my rant, what happened to civil rights and treating all people fairly, oh I am sorry doesn’t count unless you are white middle class Christian.

Personally, it gets on my nerves the way people go on and on about Obama's religion. I don't like Obama because he is too ignorant on foreign politics (and a few other things I will leave out), but I don't appreciate seeing everyone be ignorant about his background. Obviously he is Christian, he said so many times. It shouldn't matter what his name is or what color he is. People who judge a person by those characteristics truly annoy me. They should be paying attention to his policies and ideas and records in politics, not nasty rumors or characteristics he was born with. It really is sad. There have been some great leaders with different backgrounds throughout the world. People need to look at what is important about the person running for president, which is how he will lead and where he will take this country.

Good morning everyone. I'm at a coffee shop using their WiFi. My "vacation" has been good so far... but sweating my socks off!

Julianna, I love your decor... I am a fan of red hues... brings a sense of warmth and happiness (orange does that too). I hope to do that with a few rooms in my future house. There's a room at my folks' house that they have completely redone. I find myself in there often. Painted one side of the room dark red, the rest a tan-ish color. Brown leather couch and chair/ottoman. And artifacts from travels (mine and theirs, plus international students) are displayed. Makes me look at each one with admiration. Petra.
