I ask anyon who hasgonethrough Kiev forheir interview for a K-3 visa what documents they were asked for at the first window. Were they looking for originals or were copies good. I have assembled all copies and originals and it amounts to quite a stack of documents and I am told that I should minimize it which did not make sense since I also heard that they could ask for nearly anything. How was yur experience? Onelast question, whatisthetouch date I have seen?

Thanks all

You can read my review of the Kiev consulate at my timeline. I went to our interview August 7. My experience was very good. At the first window they will go down the list of documents they sent you, exactly. There is no need to "minimize" what you take. They will take only what they need. It is better to have something and not need it, do not worry if you have more than you need. You will need the original, a copy and an English translation of each document. Don't worry, if you have all the documents they list, you will be fine. Where it gets subjective are things like proving a relationship or proving you are married and living as husband and wife. I brought everything I had and it was quite a stack and they asked for very little, so I had much more than needed. No harm done. Brng what you have and other than carrying it around, it is not a problem.

I WOULD advise you to leave behind any items you do not need before you go to the consulate. They will not allow you to bring in luggage, briefcases, purses, etc. You even have to leave your cell phone, keys, etc. at security. They will give you a tag for your things and return them when you leave, but just bring your documents and wallet and that's about it. They are very prompt, don't be late, bt if you are very early you will just have to wait outside. If you use the ProCredit bank near the consulate, allow at least a half hour to pay your fees, there is a lot of people there paying their fees for the consulate and they had only one teller doing that when I was there. Then it is about 5-10 minutes walk to the consulate. Pay your fees the day before if you can.
