hello guys,

My wife has an interview in manila/US embassy on the 17th of September and i keep reading about paying the data verification fee beforehand so NSO can verify her documents. But the documents that we turned in (her birth certificate, our marriage certificate) are all from NSO. My question is that, does she still have to get this documents verified through NSO again by paying the verification fee?

Yes, you absolutely should pay the DV fee. One of the reasons for the DV is to make sure that the docs were really issued by the NSO and are not counterfeit. Pay it ASAP because it supposedly normally takes about 4 weeks for DV from the time it gets sent by the USEM to NSO and back. Then it takes maybe another week or so for the results to be forwarded from the DV unit at the USEM to the CO handling her case. Then another week or two for the visa to be released. Trust me saving 650 pesos is not worth all the stress and anxiety that you could go through if you don't pay it in advance. Hope everything works out well for you.

Hi. As per my personal experience and the experience of a couple of others that I know are going through the same thing, it may take another 3 - 4 weeks. First thing you have to do is to call Grace or Lorraine at USEM to make sure that they do already have your DV results. Depending on when they got it, count another 1 - 2 weeks before they forward your results to the CO handling your case. After the CO gets it, count another 1 - 2 weeks before the visa is released. Hope that helps.

No problem. Don't hesitate to ask if you need anything else. Good luck.
