I been here since I was 3 years old. I am Mexican, from Nayarit. I know Spanish and English very well, I prefer English though. I am an illegal immigrant. I didn't find out till' I was 16 when I asked my guardians why can't I get a job. They explained the situation. I am currently 17 years old about to be 18 in September 18. I have never got in trouble with the law. I just want to become legal. I'm a really good person. In school I'm a 'A' and 'B' student, my GPA by the end of this year(I'm a Senior in HS) should be 3.5 (if everything goes well). I really want to go to college but I'm starting to get scarred that they might not let me without a social security. Also I have never had a job and really want to start working. Please any help would be really helpful, I would really appreciate it.

I'm sure there have been a lot of people in your situation. Best thing to do I think is to contact a lawyer.

USCIS has given a list of free legal service providers. Here is the link: http://www.usdoj.gov/eoir/probono/states.htm

Good luck!

I am on the west coast, there's one program at San Jose state university, in san jose california, I can't recall the name but it deals with student who wants to futher their studies but don't have papers. They help out once you graduate or something, try to google it , best of luck and keep it up with your studies.

Dependent on your location there are schemes set up for undocumented students to be eligible to attend university. Here is a good starting point. There are some state funded financial aid programs too.

I am not sure about the route to citizenship, but I notice you mentioned 'guardians' - if you were at any point declared a court dependent then you may qualify for a green card via Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. Details are here

I would definitely look up a pro bono lawyer from the list given above in any case.

Best of luck!
