My husband, who has a green card, left the US in November and has not returned. I do not know where he is and how to find him. We have been married for 5 years and have a son who is 3 years old. My husband incurred a lot of debt gambling and left the US in November of 2007 and has not returned. I have no idea where he is or what he is doing. I am raising my son alone, with no support or help from him or anyone in his family. I went to the USCIs office here and thery said they could not help me because he is technically not doing anything wrong. All he has to do is return within a year not to lose his greencard status. IS that true?

I filed for divorce and am hoping that there is a way for that to find.

Any ideas or suggestions?
