OK, so Memorial Day is coming up and the annual big race at the Indianapolis Speedway, a classic.

And guess what? I'm off :dance::dance::dance: As I've been working on Easter it's now my turn to have a paid holiday and what better than on this one woohoooo....

BTW anyone watching the race as well?

Yep, I wanna see her perform well again this year.

About the loss of prestige... these were the days .. 1961 and the first rear-engined car among the traditional Indy roadsters (a tiny British Cooper - see pic) Indianapolis would change forever a few years later when Jackie Stewart won in a Lotus...

I'll be there. I am a BIG racing fan-I am planning on going to F1 in July, too. 500 weekend is a blast! Partying before race begins Thursday and runs through Monday. I think we are going to camp out on Crawfordsville Rd this year and live the race. Every year we drive out there and see all the drunks, the bikers, the girls who are flashing for beads, and the guys that will flash their "you know what!" It is VERY entertaining. I can't wait. I love :dance: the race!

I went several times as a kid and just never got into it at all. I used to work just up the road a few blocks at Indy Saab, and trying to get to work during qualifications pretty much ruined any interest left for me permanently. Ditto Brickyard and F1.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

yeap, I don't think I've watched the Indy 500 since the split. But I used to try to get to the Toronto Indy (CART) as much as I could. I took James one year, but all I could get was general admission tickets, he didn't much enjoy it. So after that I took him to a NASCAR race, and he didn't much enjoy that either. The infidel! :P

I will be watching! I like going to dirt track races too. Of course, there is also Nascar which I love and watch faithfully every weekend. :dance:

Not going to any tracks though this year....no funds....due to this process.... :wacko:

Edited: Actually I will be going to Lorain Speedway in June but unfortunately I will be working the race for Nascar Members Club...... :(
