This is a site designed to help people immigrate to the USA... Knowledge of Netherlands immigration law and practices will be severely lacking....

YMMV

The previous poster was right, this site is only for USA immigration.. however, I can tell you that indeed you will need to take an exam in your own country prior to your migration to the Netherlands, the exam will be held in Dutch both written and vocal.

For more information you can check the site of the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization service: http://www.ind.nl/EN/

One of the reasons that I am going to the US instead of getting my fiance to the Netherlands is the crappy immigration laws in the Netherlands. It is really hard to get past them (well, it isnt that hard for US Citizens but it is really hard for people coming from countries where a lot of immigrants are coming from already, such as the Philippines).

You might want your husband to see about other options if a written and spoken exam in Dutch is too hard at this time (which I cant blame, Dutch is an hard language) like living in Belgium for 5 years, they speak Dutch too, no exam is needed there and after 5 years of residence you are legally able to move into the Netherlands as it is part of Europe. He could check this site: http://www.buitenlandsepartner.nl/ (its dutch but it should help him on his way as it has lots of tips to get you into the Netherlands).

I hope this helped you a bit. Good luck with your journey to the Netherlands!
