Better that McCain wins?

I have gone back and forth on this for months, but I often think it's better if McCain wins.

Such a steaming pile of problems from the Bush years should fall in the lap of another Republican. It's going to blow up in the next guy's face regardless and it might as well be the party that frakked things up that takes the blame.

Riiiight... I just see how it will look:

Few more major financial scandals and major corporate failures resulting in more govt bailouts, and those in charge will go free and rich.

A couple more messy wars with costs and repercussions for years to come.

Kids in schools are forced to pray twice a day, parents who object are on a "no fly list".

Social Security, Medicare are privatized and given to Cheney and Bush (or whoever from their "buddy list") to run into the ground and then bailout.

National Debt reaches 25 Trillion

Dollar is worth 0.1 Euro

I can only and fearfully agree with symbiosis. Nobody will be able to repair what Bush has fracked up. So the next guy will look bad no matter how good a job he does of trying to repair things. If Obama wins, he still loses. Because after 4 yrs of trying to fix Bush's mess things will still be bad and then in the next election Republicans will just blame Obama and the democrats and a Republican will win again. After 4 yrs. people will have forgotten that it was Bush that ruined the economy and America's reputation because Faux News will spin all the blame on Democrats. Sometimes things have to get much worse before they can get better.

Remember the Dark Ages in Europe when a corrupt church ruled over Europe? Well, the people of northern Europe learned from that mistake and now people there are largely non-religious or at the very least think that religion and politics are things that should never go together.

I think if a Republican gets into the White House the country will continue to suffer for another 4-8yrs but after that I think people will finally see how disastrous the Republican economic and foreign policy is. Then people will run in the opposite direction whenever a candidate spewing right-wing rhetoric comes along. However, i'm not looking forward to suffering for another 4-8yrs. But it's going to be a no-win situation for everyone for the next decade no matter what.

4 more years of declining incomes for most American families? Dismantle what little health care system we have today for most Americans and leave each and every American on their own? Not if I can help it. ** McSame! He's gotta go where he belongs - into retirement.

I have been thinking McCain would be better also.

If McCain wins Bush would be less likely to launch air-strikes on Iran on his way out of office. Preparations have already been made for such a strike with US battleships and such gathered in the Persian Gulf. Although the effort to conjure up public support for such a strike has been a total flop, nevertheless Bush I think, and many experts say (experts such as Seymour Hersh and Scott Ritter) that Bush would be crazy enough to push ahead with strikes irregardless of what intelligence estimates say. We saw Bush do this to get into Iraq. I wrongly argued, during the months before the invasion of Iraq, that calmness and good judgement would prevail and that Bush would not be stupid enough to attack Iraq.

In light of this recent history I cant make this same argument that Bush would not attack Iran.

The consequences of an attack on Iran, even a so-called "precision air strike" would be extremely unpredictable.

No other issue, although largely ignore by the mainstream media, would have a greater impact on our strategic global security situation than a uni-lateral strike on Iran.

So we have to chose between disaster or long term pain. If McCain wins it may buy us some time to try to make an argument against attacking Iran. The decision to do so has already been made. The question is when.

USCIS is unnecessary and a complete freaking waste of everybody's time. What did they do other than waste 7 months of our time and take money?-- because I now have to resubmit the exact same damn information(plus some) to NVC. Apparently there is no connection between USCIS and NVC so USCIS cant simply send our documents to NVC. I was happy to get approved by USCIS but now the process starts all over again only with more complications. Maybe someday I can meet these people in person and thank them face to face for f**ing up almost everything so far. Addresses incorrectly copied, email address repeatedly typed in wrong, names misspelled, ECT, ECT, ECT.

Hows about mandatory drug testing for all who are employed at NVC? All in favor?

Very flawed premise in my opinion. It is not ok to sit on your hands and watch things disintegrate (if that is what you conclude will happen from your inaction or even positive participation in an event that you do not approve of) simply because you want some kind of symbolic "I told you so".

If you are not happy with the status quo, vote to change it, it's really that simple.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

News flash ... There are currently zero US Battleships sailing with the fleets. The last battleship in service ... USS Missouri .... was decommissioned in 1992.

You guys are coming up with some great excuses to cover your fannies after Obama loses. These are great....that it is probably better that he does.

I'm very sure that it will be better, but not for the reasons being cited here.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

I'm not sure I even understand these arguments that it's better if McCain wins so the Republicans will look bad...

If Obama wins and is unable to bring about the change that is desired and needed in this country then of course Republicans will say it's his fault. Hello. Democrats say it's Bush's fault (which, well, much of it is, but still). Who cares? If you are unsatisfied with the way this country is running and you think McCain will perpetuate the nonsense, then why vote for him? Or why sit back and not vote because if Obama wins he might not be able to change things? You must not be too dissatisfied if you're not willing to put your vote into the mix.

My candidate of choice might not win. Okay, then I will make the best of the next 4 years and vote in the next election for a candidate whom I think will do better. He might be a Democrat or he might be a Republican (for sure if it's Jindal, I may have to go with Party Charles). But to say "well we should just sit back and take another 4 years of a the same because we don't want the Dems to look bad...that just doesn't make sense to me.

No offense to anyone in particular.
