Can someone help me clear this up? I'm trying to figure out exactly what I will be paying-- I've got NOA2's for all of my family now. :)

I know I have to pay a $70 AOS fee- $400 x3 for IV Bill.... what about DS-230 - are there fees for this as well? I thought I read someplace that it's $355??? or is the $400 for the DS-230? I know we still have the medicals as well as the $131 x3 at the interview.

Thanks in advance!!! This board has been such a wonderful place and has made our journey so much easier. I appreciate all of you and wish each of you a quick reunion with your loved ones.

  20. Overnighted corrected information to NVC 10/29/08
  21. NVC received corrected DS-230 and I-864 10/30/08
  22. Case complete at NVC !!! 11/6/08 (received notification via email)
  23. Interview scheduled for 1/16/09 in MTL- hoping to schedule the medical early in the same week
  24. 1/16/09- CR-1/APPROVED !!
  25. 1/23/09- Visas arrived !!
  26. Coming home forever- January 30 2009 !

$400 is the 230 fee, since the 230 is the Immigrant Visa application, and $400 is a Immigrant Visa fee.

$355 is included in $400, it includes 355 + 45 for some "biometric" or whatever fee.

IV fee bill paid online: 2008-08-16

IV fee bill generated in AVR: 2008-08-18

IV fee bill Accepted (PAID online): 2008-08-19

I-864 Express Mailed: 2008-08-19

IV fee and 864 received at NVC, called to confirm: 2008-08-22

You don't pay any $131 non-immigrant visa fee for an immigrant visa but you would pay separate $70 AOS fees for each beneficiary/applicant.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
