I was looking for future jobs for my husband nad saw posts of a visual information spealicist in wright patterson airforce base.The link is here

What does that mean >> doesit mean people cannot apply before they have got their 10 yr unconditional Green card ...... and thuus they cannot go into these frederal jobs before 2 yrs ?

No, a green card holder doesn't qualify.

my thoughts to you is to start with a state job and once you have your citizenship, get a federal job.

Oops ....sorry didnt see the bottom ............. every thing is so complex now-a-days.Obviously I shd say strange rules our govt. has made ...... someone has to wait for 10 yrs to work for federal.......

Only US citizens can go for federal jobs, but he can go for his citizenship after three years.

Thanks for the reply Laura+Tom. As far as i know he wd be given a 2 yr conditional green card. Then after 2 yrs he is given a 10 yr unconditional green card. So may be its wrong but as far as i know, after 10 yrs he wd have to remove conditions to change him from permanent resident to Citizen..... right ? I dnt know how u got the 3 yrs things ... I wd love to know the correct thing. Thanks so much

Three years after receiving his first (2 year) GC your husband can get citizen - as long as he's still married to you.

Depending on the job just being a citizen isn't enough. You run into trouble if you have close relationship with people that aren't citizens such as your parents and siblings. Also the good ones usually get taken by ex military people that are given a preference catagory for any job they file for.

Working in Federal Jobs, you have to get a security clearance, if your job requires clearance and you got denied because of your family ties.. then they can disqualified you..
