I'm so excited I just have to share this with everyone. I managed to convince my work to give me the time off to go visit my husband. It will only be for two weeks, but I'll take whatever I can get. I will go next month so now I've just got to buy the ticket! This waiting has made me crazy and not seeing him for so long. He was excited when I called and told him. Thank God the ticket prices have gone down since the summer though they are still a little higher than last year.

thanks, so far I've found some flights going direct to Jordan from the US for a little over $1400. I'm going to look around a little more just in case I find a better deal, but I should book soon before the prices go up.

Definitely better than the summer rates that were up to $1800 and $2000!

I guess it costs almost double to go to Jordan in comparison to Morocco - my hubby got a direct flight for $1200 in the peak of summer...$1400 - that's a lot of money... :wow:

How far did he schedule the flight? I am only booking mine a little over a month out so that makes the price a bit higher. Last year I got a ticket in October for Jordan and it was about $1200.

You're going through JFK though, right? Those flights can be cheaper...

For some weird reason every time I check, the flight going there is always from Chicago, but on the way back it is JFK. I prefer JFK just because that is what I have been using and the flight is a little shorter, but so far I can't find one going out of JFK in the cheap price range. I'll try varying my dates, but I really wanted to leave around the 12th (I'm timing this for obvious female reasons, lol).

I guess he might have gotten a special going thru one of the Moroccan agencies in Queens. It was a code share between Delta and Royal Air Moroc so maybe that's why the price was rather reasonable and this on top of an almost 2.5 month stay in Morocco...

Well, if you're on something, you can keep taking it through the expected time of arrival of your Aunt, and then you have a bit of leeway. I did that every time I went because it was never the right time. I have only ever used the direct flight from Chicago route... never JFK. Actually, it's been forever since i went to JFK.
