Question re. G-325A

I've got a question about G-325A form...a bit too late since we already submitted the I-129F petition but it's been bugging me since then. Now, I’m not at all sure that we've filled it correctly. So the question is: WHO exactly signs the form? As the document says "applicant signature" I assumed it's the petitioner who signs both forms since he/she is the applicant for the I-129F and have convinced my fiancé that I'm right. Now I'm having doubts about it. And I’ll never hear the end of it if I was wrong. :D Should we had each signed our own G-325A forms? If so, what do we do now? Wait until the RFE comes through?

I feel so thick and confused... between us we have so many degrees and we cannot even fill the simple form properly… pair of idiots! !!!

Can anybody help? I'd like to be able to sleep again... ;)

Many thanks.

The person who filled it out has to sign it. I signed mine (USC) and Dennis, my fiance, signed his. I would recommend getting a second copy from the foreign fiance with their signature on it and mail it to USCIS with a letter of explanation that includes your case number and everything. Hopefully you'll catch it before they issue an RFE...otherwise, the worst that will happen is an RFE and then you can get the form back in ASAP.

Well since you both completed one of these forms (right?) you both would sign your own form...

Keep in mind (for those who don't know) - the G-325a is a four-part form.

Ohh...just a quick clarification...we both signed our own and we already got our NOA2, so I assume that's the way it was supposed to be. :)

I would not do this... each has a signature on the bottom of the form... The adjudicator may not notice or even care....

YMMV

Thanks everybody. Your comments are much appreciated.

So I gather that it may be for the best to just sit tight and pray :-). That however is not going to improve my stress levels and sleep pattern much ;-).

And I'll be sending him my copy with my signature this time first thing Monday morning in case he gets the RFE.

Thanks again.

Just a quick reminder incase you didn't know. you need to fill out and sign 4 copies each.

sorry if you already know this, but me and my fiance didn't realize this at first.

best of luck to you! :)

This is why I'm always harping on using the correct terminology. For the purposes of the K1 visa process the only time the USC is referred to as "applicant" is on the G325a form. Otherwise, the USC is the "Petitioner". For the G325a, each person for whom a G325a is submitted, signs their own.

If people would stop calling "petitions" "applications", a lot of this confusion would go away.

Anyway, you do nothing until and unless you receive an RFE. In preparation for that possibility, you'll have plenty of time to obtain a new G325a signed by the foreign fiance(e).

A scanned image is not an original signature. You may get through but it specifically asks for an original signature. ;)

yes i signed mine and my fiancee natali signed hers.

she scanned it with her printer then sent it via email back to me.

I still advise original signatures on the G325a when possible.
