I know it's pretty awesome for me! Julianna and WoM you guys get more awesome too!

I was talking to my prof about it and he was congratulating me and then telling me how he puts out 5-6 radio shows a week. That our audience is bigger than most Broadway plays and they would kill for the kind of reach we have with broadcasting. He says other stations pick up our news stories sometimes and kick them even further then our broadcast reach and he gets emails from people in Boston who hunted him down on the internet and wants more information or just to tell them how much they are looking forward to the show each night.

The news director talked to me this morning and said, "Hey Olivia did you get my email."

I beamed at him and said, "Yes I'm an "newsie" now! That is cool!"

He smiled and then went on his way.

My prof put the fear in me later when we were talking telling me that I have a real responsibility to the people. I need to put out quality work and this is my launching pad for a career with whoever I want like NPR or the BBC and that the reach of these broadcasts are far and retrievable for years or even decades. That as a news reporter I can not be letting people buy me drinks and dinner, ect because I have to remain detached and tell both sides of the story as in depth as possible.

:P One of the other news broadcasters came up to me to congratulate me and said, "Now you have to practice your sign off. Say for KUOI this is Olivia _____." LOL! It was cute. So I smiled and said it to him practicing listening to my radio news voice.

I still think that while news broadcasting may be my life's bread and butter my real labor of love will remain film making, feature length and documentary. I really do hope that documentary job in Africa still pans out after graduation! I had practice for 2 hours yesterday with a new camera position for the video production crew shooting the football games. I'm high in the stands now following the ball and being the game shot. We have a game tomorrow in fact so I hope I'm up for it!How many people get to do these kinds of KEWL jobs!? I love this work!

OMG I'm a new personality!

Congratulations, Olivia! :star:

Look out, Bill O'Reilly.

 I was thinking more along the lines of Amy Goodman with "Democracy Now" though she tends to be controversial when she leans more to the left, but the material she uncovers are the kinds of stories people need to hear of.
