Filling I-864 - Please help

I am preparing I-864 in addition to I-134 although I am sure that I-864 will not be needed during the K-3 interview. However, I want to be on the safer side.

I have referred to the sample form for I-864 and still have the following questions:

1. Part 2 (Immigrant Address) - My wife is in India now. Since I am sending I-864 to her for K-3 interview, should I write her current address in India or should I write my permanent address in US where she would be staying once she comes here?

2. Part 2 - #6 and #7 (A# and SS#) - My wife does not obviously have A# or SS# now. Should I leave this blank or write 'None'? If I write 'None' in SS# field, the form gives error of invalid SS#.

3. Part 21 (Household Size) - I have included my wife in 21a and myself in 21b. Hence, I am putting a 0 in 21c to avoid counting my wife twice. Please confirm if this is OK.

4. Part 25 (Federal Income Tax Return) - I have checked both check boxes and filled out the amounts on the form. I will be sending copies of IRS tax transcripts for past 3 years. Is it OK to check "Optional" checkbox IN ADDITION to the first checkbox? Or should I ONLY check the 2nd checkbox (since I am sending transcripts for past years)?

5. Part 7 (Use of Assets) - I am well above 125% of poverty guideline. Is it still recommended that I fill this section? The sample form has this section unfilled.

6. Finally, do I need to print this form back-to-back as in I-134 or single-sided printing is OK?

Sorry for asking too many questions but I believe that these questions will also help other people when they are ready to fill their I-864.

I appreciate your help in these questions.

Thanks.

1.) You use I-864 when you are in the US for AOS Filing!!! Use I-134 for K3..

Learn to read what statements/questions say, particularly:

2) if you dont have SSN or A# then put N/A. Done!! dont make this harder than it is..

3). Says DO NOT COUNT TWICE.. so DONT COUNT YOUR SPOUSE TWICE..

4). Dont check optional box (no need as your transcripts are the same as your tax returns)

5). Put N/A for assets if you meet 125% of poverty line unless you want them to know and show off how much money you have.. (not necessary as you meet their guidelines of 125% already)

6). Print regular on one side of paper, you will confuse them if you print back to back as only 0.99% print back to back.

Filling out the I-864 during the K3 visa process isn't a safe practice. It's just a useless exercise. The information will change by the time the affidavit is needed.

"Learn to read what statements/questions say" -- There is no reason to be rude! The purpose of this forum is to help each other out. I asked these questions no matter how stupid they sound is because people have received RFEs and visa problems for most stupidest misunderstandings. Some of them have received RFE because they have put N/A in the field where the form asks the signature of a person who prepared the form on behalf of petetitioner. N/A means it doesn't apply while officials think its an invalid answer and send RFE. Now, explain that!

I specifically mentioned that I-134 is used for K-3. I was filling I-864 just as a backup which 99% we won't be using. But its better to have it.

5) People have still shown assets on I-134 form even if they meet the guidelines. Hence, I wanted to check whether its a good practice to show all the information.

6) I-134 was back-to-back printing and hence, I asked. No harm in asking. I am not a lawyer who have done this for so many people.

Thanks pushbrk. I appreciate your reply. You are right. I am surely planning to create a new version when filing AOS. The version that I am creating now is only for taking to K-3 interview in case if its needed. I am 99.9% sure that it won't be needed but just better to have it.
