Hi I have just recieved my K3 visa and have finally arrived in the US to start my life with my wife. However I now realise that in addition to my K3 visa I need an 'EAD' card to actually work. I believe this is done by filing an I-765 and waiting for that to be approved so I can work and apply for a social security number. Is this correct and can is there any way I can work before this is approved possibley on my I-94 landing card or anything like that.

Any help/advice would be so appreciated and if I can help anyone reference K3 application I would be happy to do so.

I wish you all luck with your visas

As a K3 visa holder you need to wait for the EAD in order to work. Only K1's are work authorized, that is why they can get the temp EAD at POE.

And yes, you need to wait for the EAD to apply for SSN.
