Hi everybody!

So, apparently USCIS approved my I-765, which is the best news ever!! The weird thing is that it got approved before my biometrics appointment?????? Is this normal? :blush:

As a few of you already know, my GC interview didn't go so well as they lost the brown envelop containing all my confidential info from the US Embassy in my home country, inluding the med examination... The officer told me that I woud have to retake the examination if they didn't find the doc... Last week, I was close to my local office and so I stopped there and managed to talked to someone who advised me not to retake any medical exam for now and wait for them to answer me... And my case had been resent from my local office to the Missouri Center, so I don't really know what is going on... :wacko:

I guess I will give them until the end of the year, and if they don't know more, I will repass a full med examination...

Afterall, if I get my I-765 card soon, I don't really care about getting my GC, right?? I mean, as long as I can work, I don't really care when I get the GC... Does that make any sense??

10/16/2008: SSA finally gave me a SSN!!

11/17/2008: AP received and EAD approved!

11/20/2008: Biometrics appointment AND Green card interview in Fairbanks.

12/29/2008: I went to my local office to regive my biometrics. And my EAD card has finally been issued!!

01/12/2009: EAD received!! Finally

02/09/2009: GC received in the mail :) Anniversary is 01/29/11

Removal of conditions:

11/09/10: Divorced

11/18/10: Sent I-751 to CSV

11/30/10: Receipt notice received in the mail

12/30/10: Called USCIS as no news for 1 month after NOA1

1/10/11: Emailed from USCIS about my call: "The process for fingerprint appointment scheduling has been requested."

1/13/11: NOA2 ASC appointment notice

2/3/11: Biometrics at local office (NOA2 recieved on 2/2/11!!!)

2/16/11: Date of decision: APPROVED

2/24/11: Card in hand

AP received in the mail tonight. :) Hopefully EAD is right behind.

I was talking to a coworker about this whole process the other day. She was amazed at how long we waiting to be together, and have waited for the AOS process. I told her that compared to some cases, ours has gone pretty quickly, but it certainly wasn't easy to be apart for any amount of time. She responded with, "There is NO WAY I would go through all of that for a MAN." I just grinned and said, "He's worth it."

It is so hard to wait, but I truly believe that those of us who go through this have an advantage over couples who have it "easy" as far as being together. I know that I appreciate Alf more than I probably would if we hadn't spent time knowing what it's like to be without him. I don't think we'll ever take each other for granted.

Congrats on all the recent approvals!! :)

As for me, I got my EAD card in the mail yesterday. I'm so happy :dance:

Today I contacted the supervisor of the place I worked at before my 90 day EAD stamp expired and I left him a message on his voicemal. He said they would rehire me when I get my new EAD card. I hope he keeps his promise. But just in case he doesn't, I also applied to some other jobs already. It's great to know that I can finally try to get a job and hopefully I'll be working soon. Next month would be nice ;)
