September AOS filers

Hi there,

This is my first time posting, I've been watching this great website for a year now and it's been so useful.

I just wanted to ask you all if you know where your paperwork was sent to? I also filed in Sep and have had nothing since my receipt notices (Sep 10) and biometrics (Sep 30). I'm mostly wanting my AP as we're going away in Jan, and it's the one thing that is not showing on the USCIS tracking page (my AOS and EAD both show as pending). I called yesterday to see if someone could help and the person said it was in the system and everything seemed to be fine but it hadn't been approved yet, and he also said the paperwork was in Missouri (I'm in Atlanta). So, I'm just wondering if it's a little slow because of where it is, and if those of you who are getting approved/appointments etc are from a particular area?

I know there's nothing that can be done about it but I was just curious to see if there's any kind of pattern to it.

Also to angelike31, I renewed my NZ passport last month with my married name on it and it only took about 3 weeks from the time I sent it to the time it came back to me, so you should have enough time to get one by Feb if you need to. Good luck to you!

my husband and i are going to his mom's place by january..we will get our ticket soon..what do you think is the name i should use to book since i dont have my ead and gc yet...should i use my married name and just bring my marriage certificate together with my passport or just stick with my maiden name. if i use maiden name would there be probs on that?

Hi,

As far as I know, you have to use the name that is in your passport.

Or else there will be problems....

But you should still bring your marriage certificate.

if your receipt says MSC....., your case is at missouri/NBC..

(i think all paperworks go to NBC which is in missouri)

and if your case is transferred to CSC or local office, you will be notified..

your case will be transferred to your local office if u will have an interview..

that's why if u look at the timeline table, you'll see purple peeps are the ones with the interview date..

This is my first time posting, I've been watching this great website for a year now and it's been so useful.

I just wanted to ask you all if you know where your paperwork was sent to? I also filed in Sep and have had nothing since my receipt notices (Sep 10) and biometrics (Sep 30). I'm mostly wanting my AP as we're going away in Jan, and it's the one thing that is not showing on the USCIS tracking page (my AOS and EAD both show as pending). I called yesterday to see if someone could help and the person said it was in the system and everything seemed to be fine but it hadn't been approved yet, and he also said the paperwork was in Missouri (I'm in Atlanta). So, I'm just wondering if it's a little slow because of where it is, and if those of you who are getting approved/appointments etc are from a particular area?

I know there's nothing that can be done about it but I was just curious to see if there's any kind of pattern to it.

Also to angelike31, I renewed my NZ passport last month with my married name on it and it only took about 3 weeks from the time I sent it to the time it came back to me, so you should have enough time to get one by Feb if you need to. Good luck to you!

if your receipt says MSC....., your case is at missouri/NBC..

(i think all paperworks go to NBC which is in missouri)

and if your case is transferred to CSC or local office, you will be notified..

your case will be transferred to your local office if u will have an interview..

that's why if u look at the timeline table, you'll see purple peeps are the ones with the interview date..

purple = case at local office..

hello everyone,

i need your advice...

my husband and i are going to his mom's place by january..we will get our ticket soon..what do you think is the name i should use to book since i dont have my ead and gc yet...should i use my married name and just bring my marriage certificate together with my passport or just stick with my maiden name. if i use maiden name would there be probs on that?

Whatever form of ID you are using to travel, whether it be passport, drivers license etc... That's the name you use. It does not matter if you user your maiden name, as long as the government issued ID matches.

The airline just wants to make sure that the name matches, they are not going to question you for using your maiden name or report you to anyone. Technically your maiden name is still your legal name as far as your passport is concerned.

Too bad it hadn't been my AP

Exactly the same thing happened to us...first email said November 25 and then got another last night saying December 2. Maybe they think Canadians don't pay close enough attention and they need to tell us twice! LOL

I'll just be happy when I get the card..

CSC processing times over-hyped after all?

I was looking at previous updates to the September Filers timetable, and I realized that none of the cases that were transferred to CSC have been granted an interview or approved without an interview so far. Some NON-CSC fillers have interviews as early as next week! (good luck!)

That made me think that it might not be that advantageous at all to have your case transferred to CSC

well, IMO.. being transferred to CSC doesnt mean u wont have an interview..

it is just a "possibility" that u wont have an interview.. (advantage)

and it doesnt mean that you're case will be expited or something..

as we all know there are cases that are transferred to CSC then transferred to the local office..

it is still case to case basis.. no matter what..
