I received my AP and EAD in the mail today, they are postmarked for the 24th, so I bet they got caught up because of thanksgiving. Its so exciting to get the fruits of our labour!

Now to plan a trip to visit the family :D sad thing is, I will probably get the GC before that will take place... better safe than sorry!

Some people do it really fancy, I am not sure how they do that. but I just go to the top of the page where it says "Logged in as:" and where all your control options are, click "my assistant", then "edit forums signature". Then you just add in your timeline as you like. you could go to your original timeline and copy and paste or type it all in. Then when you get some news you'd like to add, just do the same and add a line to the bottom (or top, however you like.)

It will then pop up beneath your responses! :) good luck!

Got my AP Today!, but my EAD hasn't arrived yet :-(... hopefully by Monday... I have a question for the people who already have a Social Security card... Does the SS Card say something like "Valid only with DHS authorization"... I'm asking this because in 2006 I came with a work visa for 3 months, and they gave me a SS card by that time. Then I came here as an F1 Student and of course I wasn't able to work. However, I kept my old SS card j (Which says "Valid only with DHS Authorization")just in case, and now that I'm going to have my EAD card in a couple of days, I don;t know if I have to apply for a new SS card....

My case:

-Green Card through marriage.

-Entered US as an F1 Student.

-Happily Married on Aug/23.

-I live in NJ.

Hello.

I just got back home from Thanksgiving trip to my husband's hometown.

Traffic was not as bad as we have expected though we scored 5 miles per hour (we really spent 1 hour to drive 5 miles....)at some point. :blink:

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving day. :star:

Got my AP Today!, but my EAD hasn't arrived yet :-(... hopefully by Monday... I have a question for the people who already have a Social Security card... Does the SS Card say something like "Valid only with DHS authorization"... I'm asking this because in 2006 I came with a work visa for 3 months, and they gave me a SS card by that time. Then I came here as an F1 Student and of course I wasn't able to work. However, I kept my old SS card j (Which says "Valid only with DHS Authorization")just in case, and now that I'm going to have my EAD card in a couple of days, I don;t know if I have to apply for a new SS card....

Congrats on you AP. As far as i know your ssn stays the same no matter what. It will say Valid w/ DHS authorization until you get a green card and you no longer need EAD, and you re-apply to have that DHS authorization removed. Definitely call SSA to follow up though... this is just my understanding from what i have read.

Congrats everybody for Aps and EADs!

I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving!

Personnally, it was the first time this year that I was hosting the thanksgiving dinner. I made everything by myself, turkey, green beans casserole, candy yams, apple pie etc. It turned out pretty good! I'm proud! Except that I really didn't like the turkey. This meat has a too strong test! It tastes like bones...The gravy helps, but still...
