Thanks :( ... I only have a copy of the vaccination records, because apparently the surgeon in France wasn't allowed to give me more than that (the Embassy doesn't want them to do that)... And even if I had a copy, the officer told me it wasn't enough because they need to see the original ones... It is just super frustrating to be stuck knowing it is either their fault or the POE's fault. That even doesn't make sense that she didn't check that before making us go to the interview!!!

They really will make things hard until the very end!! I hope that stupid thing won't happen to somebody else!!

it's their fault.. :ranting: and that is just frustrating..

i just wish they find your medical records soonie..

so we all have our peace of mind here..

and so u wont need to pay for the medical again..

PS: isnt it that.. they should be the one paying the medical now cos "they" lost it...

Yeah, I hope so too... Haha, I can always ask them if they will pay for it and see how they react lol.

Now I just have to not think too much about it! Until they come back to me... What sucks is that the officer made us understand that with the coming holidays, processing times would probably be a little longer...

Ok, just to say, my interview went well, the officer ALMOST approved us, but she realized the content of the envelop I gave at the POE (the one giving by the embassy after K1 interview and that contains results of overseas med exam and other things) was missing. Even though she got the vaccination records from the US surgeon (form I-693), she said she needed to see the original results from the examination in France... So here I am, not knowing what to do... She said she would try to know why it wasn't in my file as it was supposed to, and if she doesn't find it, then I will simply have to repay a lot to repass a stupid med examination I don't need... GREAT!! I am so depressed and angry at the same time... It does suck!!!!!!! :crying:

So I guess the waiting is far from over for me...

Faustine

That's so awful!!! I'm sooooooo sorry you had to go all the way over there for that!! *hugs*

It's totally their fault too - they really ought to pay for a new medical!! :bonk:

so sad to hear this! its not really all good news, but dont worry we are with you FaustineJason, we will pray that things will work out fine as its not your fault at all...just be patient and its just a little bump on the road...just look at the bright side of it, you are done with the interview and all, whats lacking is not your fault at all but at least you clearly know what they want, though its really a hassle on your part...while all of us are still waiting for our case to even be at least touched...hehehehe...

just want you to feel better...i know things will be ok real soon...you are very near to the finish line, theres no time for giving up!

we will all be there (Finish Line)! though different timelines, it looks good though on the chart...heheheh!

God bless!

It's so sad to hear!

Apparently it happens a lot. I read other post here on VJ about that. Why those stupid medical sheets desapear?!! It makes me so angry!

It's their fault, the least they can do is to pay for you and make a special medical appointment! but they don't!

EnvyMe, I don't know where you did your medicals, but for me it was not *THAT* expensive, at least not in Chicago ... If I remember correctly It was about $150 (before insurance). After insurance it was about $35

FaustineJason, if you choose to re-take the medical definitely shop around, call a few places etc.. prices do vary significantly

I agree. You seem to be within the 90 day timeframe, so all you can do is call USCIS or make an Infopass and tell them you want an ' Approaching Regulatory Time frame' inquiry to be made.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Hi FaustineJason.

I am sorry to hear what has happened at your interview...

They are f**kin' good at losing documents..... I have seen the similar post before where a whole brown envelope went missing....

Do you think you can try to obtain those records from the hospital in France where you had your medical?

I asked the hospital in japan where I had my medical to send me the record. Though they did not have an exactly the same form that I

submitted to the embassy, they had my vaccination record and medical results on file and they sent it for me.

I am not sure whether that helps, but you may want to try.

Sorry... I did not read your later post...Stupid me....

Mmmm... If they want the original, getting medical record from France wouldn't work....

I really hope that you do not have to pay for another medical....Yea, USCIS should cover the cost because they lost it!!!!

Can't they find more efficient and reliable people to work at USCIS????? They are wasting their tax money and our money.

anyone?

Has anyone ever tried to get a social security number after approval without getting the EAD card itself? I am going to try on Monday. The worst they can do is say no right ?

I thought about doing this as well, in theory it should work. And yep, worst thing that happens is they say no, and you come back when you have the EAD.

Good luck :)

I applied for my SSN back in July and received it early August. All I used was my K-1 Visa and took a copy of our lease agreement. I suppose all states are different though.
