How does one apply for the emergency AP, anyway??

I called the USCIS number and I told them that I have an emergency and need to go home. It is free to apply for emergency AP but they usually require evidence that you have an emergency. I understood that in five working days after applying they have to give you an answer (approve the AP or not).

You have to provide evidence of emergency. I had my grandma really sick in hospital and asked from Romania her medical exams in order to show her condition.

Also, they would need to see your return ticket. it is probably better to make an Infopass one week before you plan to leave .

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I am so glad to see lots of EAD approvals. :star:

Congrats!!! Yay Yay!

Since I am a late September filer, I think I have another few weeks to a month

to wait for my EAD.

My friend who applied for AOS in September already got an interview letter.

(I do not think she is a VJ member.)

Though she received an interview letter, she told me that the online status has not been changed

from case received and pending.....

Also, the last time her case was touched was a day after biometrics appointment.

So.... There are hope that they are working on our cases though we do not see any touches to our cases.

(I still cannot see the status of my AP application online..... )

Wish all of us best luck!!! :star:

I thought I would share a newspaper article with you....

This is not really related to our cases since it is about asylum cases.

But, this article touched my heart because I am also an immigrant.

If you have lots of time to kill like I do  , you may take a moment to read it.

This article was found in LA CITY BEAT.

The title is "THE LOTTERY - Seeking asylum in U.S. immigration courts is all in the luck of the draw."

The link is here: http://www.lacitybeat.com/cms/story/detail/the_lottery/7526/

(The article has three pages.)

I have some great news!

I went to check my mail today - and found a letter from USCIS.

:wow:

It was the AP documents!!!

I couldn't believe it!

My online case status shows an approval for EAD on 11/13 and a touch on AP for 11/13,

Which is so great because he hasn't gotten to meet my mom yet,

Also, I am so glad that I have VJers to help me with this process,
