I went to the InfoPass on Monday 11/10/08 regarding my AP, and today 11/12/08, my AP has been approved, and the website said "approve notice sent". Plus, my EAD card production ordered today also!!! So happy~~

Does anyone know how long it takes for the AP to arrive? Is "approve notice" the actual AP documents?

For reference, I went to the InfoPass, telling them my departure day for my brother's wedding is next Wed 11/19.....and they make a copy of my NOA, flight itinerary and my brother's wedding invitation. The lady at the counter said she will email my information to the MSC office, see if they will process for me.

Congratulation! I hope you'll receive your AP asap! and have fun at your brother's wedding! ;)

:clock::pop::clock: I might as well join in as well. No updates, emails, letters... Our AOS still doesn't even say pending yet. Just received.

:clock: *whine* :hehe:

:reading::clock::pop::reading:

I'm joining the club as well! I check USCIS every 30 minutes! Nothing's changing!

But at the same time, I filled late Sept. so I don't have high hopes to get anything before a month or two... :(

hey, just wanted to pass on some optimism as the weekend approaches...

i stealthily snuck into the August Filers topic, and it seems like a lot of them have been approved and they are receiving good news every day... so with any luck, those adjuncators will be movin' on to our applications ASAP! :innocent:

So, I was thinking and reading through our desperate waiting and I am AlHaya: let's not loose heart on this. It's very easy to get hmmm a little discouraged and sad. Waiting CAN be frustrating and God only knows what happens at USCIS!

But things ARE moving!

 So, let's change the subject to Planning for the holidays!

Right now I am busy trying to make an Irish/ English Christmas pudding to take to the Christmas family party in December. It has been 4 days of soaking the dried fruit in brandy and now I'm about to start the first batch. After that it takes ages for the pudding to cook - like 12 hours- and once is ready it has to mature for weeks. :hehe: - just like USCIS!!

I know some people that start doing this in early October, so that by Christmas all the juices and spices have settled and it tastes like the food for the gods.

Anyway, what are you planning for the holidays? :energy:

Wow! That would take some serious patience! Let us know how it turns out!

We're spending Thanksgiving at my sister's with everyone. (We did have Canadian Thanksgiving here at home! ) Then Christmas will either be at her place again, or at my parents'. I'm beyond excited about Christmas this year, even if it does seem to be coming waaaaaaaay too fast. Last year my 2 children were with my ex in Texas, Alf was still stuck in Canada waiting for his interview and I was all alone. It was not a happy time for lil ole me. This year the kids are home for Christmas, Alf is home... *happy sigh*

My daughter is 3 now, and she's really starting to get into this Christmas thing. I can already see her eyes sparkling and it makes me laugh and want to cry (happy tears!) at the same time. That has to be my favorite part of the season. Just watching the kids' faces light up.

Also... my dear mother-in-law, who swore she would never step foot on US soil, told us the other day she got her passport and was tossing around the idea of coming to visit soon! I think the hatred for the states was more of a guilt trip to try to change Alf's mind about moving, but I am still reeling from that one! Don't get me wrong. I love her dearly and would LOVE for her to come visit.. I'm just shocked at the sudden change of heart. She liked me, just hated the distance etc. Hmm.. maybe she plans on coming down and stuffing him in her carry-on for the trip home?:rofl:

:clock: Still no updates...

Hey Luci, my inlaws are also from Boston, a mixture of Irish and Italian backgrounds, lots of yelling and loud laughing, you know. I'd made my mind to bring the Xtmas pudding, just to eat after the lobster and the sea-food feast ;)

So funny. I'm in Boston and of Italian ancestry, so we always do the Sicilian Feast of the Seven Fish on Christmas Eve. My husband right now is home making a Christmas pudding (though we got a pressure cooker to steam the thing, so hopefully it'll only take a few hours)! It's funny how these traditions get all mixed in everywhere. :P

Also... my dear mother-in-law, who swore she would never step foot on US soil, told us the other day she got her passport and was tossing around the idea of coming to visit soon!

I guess that's the case of lots of people living in Boston! ;)

Still nothing, and the holidays just add gasoline to the fire. :clock::cry:

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

woa, I am in Boston as well... and I can feel the cold air kicking now.... I wonder if we will have a white christmas this year...

I am still handmaking my wedding cake. It's actually a felt cake but it has 3 tiers... each tier has 6 slices of cake and each cake has embroidery on it (like first time dating, and date etc)... awful lot of work and I am still working on it... Not sure if it will be done anytime soon....

other than that it's work..... so afraid to get laid off right now!!!

and also, no touches, mails, e-mails or any updates since that last touch the day after the biometrics!

:energy:

Good idea, Precious, we need a distraction to stay away from USCIS website, which i just got off of and no updates...

But Wow!!! Your Christmas pudding sound amazing! A lot of work... good for you!

For me, for the holidays, i'm mostly planning for Eid al-Kebir (the upcoming Muslim holidays in early December)...

unfortunately we can't go back to Morocco b/c of $$ and no AP---and we are not really organized enough emotionally or financially to go anyway...

So we are currently looking for where we can purchase a live sheep in Brooklyn  for the big event.

and i'm busily trying to figure out how i'm going to grill all this meat to make an authentic Eid al-Kebir??

It should be fun though!

I just check the website now once or twice a week, I was starting to go insane checking it and the mailbox daily, lol.

sounds like everyone has some awesome holiday plans. This will be my first true winter with my husband so its quite the experience, it will be fun to see how his family does christmas, but I am already starting to miss my family. It would be about this time that I would be helping my mom set up our fake christmas tree (mum hates pine needles, and I don't blame her).

I must say in wisconsin its a lot colder than vancouver, BC. not really used to that at all. My husband got a kick out of me trying on all the huge winter coats (I'm kinda short so it was pretty amusing to see a small person in this huge coat that's got like 3 layers).

good luck to everyone with the wait, any day now we will start to see changes with our cases!
