I hate having to go against the rules also, but my husband is hell bent on keeping this job even though he is a bit fearful. Maybe not the best decision and some irresponsibility on his part, but he knows the consequences and is willing to chance it, I guess.

Its just horrible that they couldnt expedite, and stopping work now, whats the assurance he ll get it back whenever uscis sends out the EAD? and would there be no consequences if he continues to work?

Its a situation that isnt pleasant both ways..

I hope you find a way through and if he does continue working... here's to hoping it goes smoothly and that the EAD comes before the end of the month.

####### is my husband supposed to do now that his I-94 is expired? He will not be quitting his job especially in this state where we have the highest unemployment rate.

And to top it off.....still NO touches. :angry: :angry:

My husband took a couple temp jobs during the time he was here, but put off a permanent search because he knew his I-94 would expire prior to his receiving EAD. It's a stupid system, and many do work when the I-94 expires. But, we're waiting our turn in line despite the horrible economy, because:

- We knew this was going to happen and that it would take about three months after filing to receive an EAD, and

- We don't want to risk illegal employment, even if there's only a small chance of there being negative repercussions from it, and

- The I-864 basically puts you on warning that there is going to be this employment gap and attempts to ensure that you can at least live on the U.S. citizen spouse's means until then.

We hope ours comes ASAP too, and he's looking for jobs in the meantime so that he can go to work as soon we receive our EAD.

This is exactly what we did too and for the same reasons. We knew from the start that the worst case scenario would be me not being able to work for the first six months here. Fortunately I was able to find some temp jobs during my first 90 days here. But then my I-94 expired. The company I worked for last told me they'd rehire me once I get my EAD, but I recently heard that they fired a bunch of people because of the bad economy so I can't be sure that they'll rehire me. Of course I'll try because I enjoyed that job. But even if I have to look for a new job, I know I'll find one. It was easy finding temp jobs before so I'll just start doing that again. I'm not too worried about that. It's frustrating right now that I can't work and I'm not bringing in any money. But at the same time, I know the situation is just temporary. I hope your EAD comes soon so the problem will be solved. I think we should see more EAD cards being ordered soon. It can't be long now

Just an update.

Our case got touched a couple of times last week after being transferred and received at CSC.

We also got a touch today...on a Sunday?!

Does CSC work on Sundays?

I hope there is no RFE on the way...

We got a letter in the mail from UselessSCIS stating they received the expedite request. To condense the letter, it says in short.....We're busy with other expedite requests. Get back in line, Jack!
