I called and I was told that there is nothing wrong and that the receipt number does exist, but they have problems sometimes and the status does not appear or either online or on the phone, but they told me basically don't freak out, your AP is still pending...

Apparently, thats why we never had a touch since filing for everything....going way back to the I-129F in Feb. 2007. Something needs fixing, I'd say.

I received another NOA. It gave me my interview date and it is Dec. 9th 2008.

Me and my wife was expecting to have an interview next summer and there are so many service we should have ordered but we haven't (we are going to get them when I start working -- like cell phones, mobile internet, life insurance for wife, renter's insurance for us, etc). We are so unprepared.

Anyone have idea on why we need to bring another copy of birth certificate for both of us? I mean I thought we submitted all of these ... Can someone clarify what we need to bring to the interview?

We got a letter in the mail from UselessSCIS stating they received the expedite request. To condense the letter, it says in short.....We're busy with other expedite requests. Get back in line, Jack!

My husband took a couple temp jobs during the time he was here, but put off a permanent search because he knew his I-94 would expire prior to his receiving EAD. It's a stupid system, and many do work when the I-94 expires. But, we're waiting our turn in line despite the horrible economy, because:

- We knew this was going to happen and that it would take about three months after filing to receive an EAD, and

- We don't want to risk illegal employment, even if there's only a small chance of there being negative repercussions from it, and

- The I-864 basically puts you on warning that there is going to be this employment gap and attempts to ensure that you can at least live on the U.S. citizen spouse's means until then.

We hope ours comes ASAP too, and he's looking for jobs in the meantime so that he can go to work as soon we receive our EAD.

I hate having to go against the rules also, but my husband is hell bent on keeping this job even though he is a bit fearful. Maybe not the best decision and some irresponsibility on his part, but he knows the consequences and is willing to chance it, I guess.
