So, thanks to the people who were afraid the letter for my adjustment of status appointment was a mistake, I finally got to talk to someone from my local office ( as they never answered, I had the good idea to call them non-stop this morning, hanging up before their voice message, and after a while, a lady answered, probably tired of hearing the phone ringing all the time And by the way, I found my local office number on the yellow pages...)!! And there is no mistake. My adjustement of status interview will be november 20th, and they also will be taken my biometrics the same day, probably before the interview!!!!! Hooray!! I guess the down side is that I am not going to receive any EAD before that, but if I can have my green card granted in 2 weeks, I am more than willing to wait!!!

Hey VJ friends!!

I noticed that everybody's case has touched, what is that meant? How do I know if mine'e been touched??

Mine is still stuck on Case received and pending on Sept 4th.

I am no nervous...its's Nov 6th... and I really want to go to by brother's wedding in 10 days!!!

EAD, AOS and AP all touched again today!

You can register on USCIS website to follow your cases online... The link is:

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/termscondi...ntextType=CU_EN

You will then need to enter your receipt numbers you got from NOAs. And whenever you are connected, you'll be able to tell if there was an update or not. Update means that the indicated date has changed and that you have been touched...

It doens't work all the time. For exemple, I can see my cases online, but they have never been updated, even though my cases have been already transferred to my local office and that I just got my I-485 interview date. That didn't work for my I-129 either, at the beginning of the process, before getting my visa... But for most people, it seems to be a great way to know when their cases have been seen by someone. If you see such an update, then you can click on your receipt number and see if they actually made a real update and your status has changed. Sometimes they touch you but don't really do anything on the case...

T'as troooop d'la chance! lol

I can't get my DL. I passed my learner's permit. It was very easy indeed! But it expires with my I94 in few days. And then I can't do anything anymore. Because I have no legal proof anymore. I need to wait for my EAD.

I wished all states had the same DL policy...

Hey, yes, the column where you see "last updated (mm/dd/yyyy)" is how you can see if your case has been updated. Let's say ot indicated "11/04/2008". Tomorrow if you login, maybe the date will be different "11/07/2008", that will be the updated date. Then, to check if USCIS has actually worked on your case, you open your receipt number and check if it is said something different than the previous time you checked it. You can also check the option "Email on", so that whenever there is an update, you'll receive a notification by email... It has never worked for me, but I am sure it has for other people...

It seems like you already have your interview date though, so touches won't help you a lot now!! I doubt they will touch you after your interview, you will just have to wait for the GC to arrive... So, that's great news, in a week, you'll get your approval, fingers crossed!

I am sorry that your DL is taking so long. That is true, it doesn't make any sense that in some states, it is so easy to get the DL or an ID when it is so hard in some other states.. I guess being in AK is a chance, the state is relatively "new" and so there are many things that don't work like in other states... Patience!! But I understand you, not being able to drive -in a country where nothing is accessible without a car- sucks!! Bonne chance! Keep us updated

maybe its because of you sis, that u keep our chart up to date, hehehhe... keep up the good work sis! time flies when we are in front of pc reading VJ and checking our case online in USCIS.. what else we can do the whole day waiting for ead/aos approval to get a job.... lets enjoy ourselves now staying at home hehehhehehe
