September AOS filers

stupid question: when you call uscis to check the "status" of your case, is it all automated? and is it no more helpful than looking at it online?

just wondering, my case was resumed for the RFE last week but my EAD and AP haven't been touched since September. and I had my biometrics for both AOS and EAD at the beginning of october. I thought I might call them and see if everything was okay if nothing changes in a couple weeks.

I checked my status online and it says for my I-485-- Case transferred to California Service Center. What does it mean? Says they mailed me a noticed explaining but then my I-765 still had same status. So I guess that means that they didn't touch my I-765?

That's a good thing, many of the cases that get transferred to CSC get approved without an interview (and hence processing is faster)

That's a good thing, many of the cases that get transferred to CSC get approved without an interview (and hence approval is faster)

Whew! God I badly hope so... I just wonder why my I-765 wasn't touch today too. Well I hope after tomorrows appointment.

hrmm... still waiting on my biometrics appointment letter. My wife says I'm getting obsessed. I hope I get it this week.

hi mellowgeorge, still no biometrics yet? i dunno why until now i dont receive my sched yet.. i tried to call USCIS last week but got to talk with just MACHINE and just read what i can read from online... dunno how can i get to talk with uscis personnel........... biometrics sched pls. come very sooon........

Ya I just got a letter saying they transferred our case to the CSC also. That is great news if it speeds it up and doesnt require an interview.

Just a little bit of an update.

We went for my wife's biometrics friday. Everything went smooth except I didnt bring the marrige certificate and we had no proof that my wife has taken my last name. They processed it for us anyway so that was nice of them I would really have been pissed if I had to reschedule. Now we wait some more......

Hi folks. It's almost a month since I sent in my AOS application. I received all NOAs but I still dont have an appointment letter for biometrics. Also, I was able to add my I-765 and I-130 onto the online portfolio, but not the I-485. Do you think there's a problem here that's potentially causing a delay in my biometrics letter?

Not panicking yet. Will wait this whole week and then maybe I start making calls if nothing still.

Yes, you can view when the case was last updated - the date column. If there's been a 'touch', the date of the touch will be shown. Don't worry, you are still well within the "reasonable" time frame! Hang in there!!

Filling in your timeline would be a good start.

Click on "My assistant" at the top right of the screen, a little popup window will open, then click on "edit/add my timeline" You'll have to enter the email address you registered with and then you can begin filling in the information.

It gives you an estimate of when things may be approved, etc and it helps others with their timelines as well.
