I noticed that a lot of people have been getting RFEs for tax information. What kind of info are they asking for?

My RFE was for my joint sponsor, she forgot to include all of her IRS tax documents, she just had the form and her 1040, but not her w-2 or 1099-R. And we also didn't include any proof of her status as an american, so we had to have a birth certificate or passport page. Basically stuff we should have included if we had read the instructions properly! :P

I believe right now the RFE's are just for initial evidence, but later on they may scrutinize and thats when you get other RFEs.

I think getting the tax forms transcripts from the IRS seems to be the best way to go. It seemed like the easiest way to go and heck if it's from the IRS how much more 'proof' do you want that I paid my taxes :) It only took like 1-2 weeks to get it, so surprisingly fast for a bad government agency.

Obtaining Tax Transcripts. You may use Internal RevenueService (IRS) Form 4506-T to request tax transcripts from the IRS. Complete IRS Form 4506-T with the ending date for each of your three most recent tax years listed on line 9.Follow all instructions for completing and filing Form 4506-T with the IRS.

I haven't had much progress on my cases online since my biometrics.... I'm hoping by November I'll at least see some movement.

09/16/08 - Biometrics appointment for 09/30/08

09/30/08 - Biometrics completed - cases available online

Oh jeez, i can't even remember if i sent in my birth certificate w/ the sponsorship form.... :blink:

Hi everyone!!

I am just new here and have a question about my AOS application. We submitted my I -485 AOS and I-765 last Sept 21st. We got the NOA for both application and had already my FP last Oct 17. However we got another letter which is the RFE for the affidavit of support which we already submitted.

I'm just confused if we need to submit the same papers all over again or they are asking for more evidence. The yellow letter only stated "to submit a completed and signed Form I 864 Affidavit of Support for petitioner/sponsor listed on Form I-130 or Form I-129F. Even if a joint sponsor will be used the petitioner/sponsor must submit Form I-864, whicj we already did.

I tried to call NCSC 1800-375-5283 but I can't get hold of a live person.

Please advise!!

nope nothing yet, hope they come soon, but have a feeling it might be another month or so.

nope, no news here...

but i was looking in the August filers thread and some people got there EADs already, so... maybe soon, they'll move on to September filers?

i was looking in the August filers thread and some people got there EADs already, so... maybe soon, they'll move on to September filers?

From looking at several monthly group's threads it appears that EAD's and AP's start to show up about 60 days after filing. So the first September filers should start to see their EAD's and AP's start to show up in about two weeks (except for anyone with an RFE, which delays things a bit.)

May 7, 2007 -- I-129F K1 sent to NSC

Dec 26, 2007 -- K1 Visa approved.

Sep 16, 2008 -- AOS/EAD/AP sent to Chicago

Apr 01, 2009 -- Conditional green card arrives.

Feb 19, 2011 -- Mailed I-751 Packet to lift conditions

Nov 11, 2011 -- Permanent GC rev'd in mail.

Apr 25, 2012 -- Mailed N-400 Naturalization

Aug 16, 2012 -- Citizenship Interview. Approved.

Sep 06, 2012 -- Citizenship Oath.

We got the biometrics appointment letter yesterday.

It's at 11AM on October 25th.

Lol, the notice was dated 10/10 but took the letter 10 days to get here, I was getting worried!

Hopefully we'll see EAD & AP approvals soon!

09/27/2008 - Filed I-130/AOS package via UPS

10/06/2008 - Received hardcopy NOAs via USPS

10/25/2008 - Biometrics appointment date

12/23/2008 - EAD card and AP documents in hand! Yay!

12/29/2008 - Interview letter in hand

02/03/2009 - Interview date at San Francisco local office - Approved!

02/17/2009 - Green Card in hand! Whoo Hoo! (4 months, 3 weeks and a day of AOS journey)

ROC Journey

11/08/2010 - Filed I-751/ ROC package via USPS (Express Mail)

11/15/2010 - Received NOA dated 11/09/2010

01/20/2011 - Biometrics appointment (letter received 12/27/10)

02/28/2011 - Received card production email

03/05/2011 - 10-Year Green Card in hand! (3 months, 3 weeks, 4 days of ROC journey)

Naturalization Journey

03/05/2012 - Filed N-400 package via USPS (Express Mail)

03/14/2012 - Received NOA dated 03/07/2012

04/16/2012 - Biometrics appointment (letter received 03/26/12)

05/24/2012 - Interview at San Francisco local office - Approved!

07/11/2012 - Oath Ceremony in Oakland, CA (4 months and 7 days of Naturalization journey)

Finally a US citizen! (overall process from beginning to end: 3 years, 9 months and 15 days)

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
