Hello Vjers... I wanna ask if I can get a driving test while waiting for the AOS? or if not can I get a state ID even if my I-94 expires already?

This depends on the state. Most states require you to have SSN and indeed make sometimes an issue of an expired I-94. You might wanna save the effort and just wait for your GC.

9/23/08 - Can see statuses online though USCIS website

10/02/08 - CRIS touch for AP and EAD

10/15/23 - Biometrics Appointment completed!!!

11/26/08 – CRIS TOUCH – "Card Production for EAD Ordered" message in email

12/1/08 – CRIS TOUCH - "AP Approved" message in email

12/2/08 – CRIS TOUCH – Again “Card Production for EAD” through email

12/5/08 – CRIS TOUCH – “EAD Approval Notice Sent” through mail

12/5/08 - Got AP document today in USPS mail...Now I can go back to India to see my parents for Christmas!!!!

12/6/08 - Got EAD Card in the mail!!!!!!!!!!!

1/3/09 - Interview letter received in mail. Interview on February 10th 2009

2/2/09 - Found a Job!!!!

2/10/09 - Had interview and they took my EAD card and AP. I'm approved....!!!!

2/11/09 - Got Green Card in mail.

No touch on I-130 since 10/08/2008

NO touch on AOS since 10/16/2008

Green Card expiry for 2/12/11

11/1/10 - Filed AR-11 online and I-865

11/19/10 - Filed I-751 to California center with 545 check$

11/24/10 - Cheque has been cashed

11/29/10 - Got NOA FOR I-751

02/16/11 - Green card Approved though mail

03/02/11 - Green Card received in mail

Had our biometrics appointment yesterday at 8 am in Cincinnati. The office was at the Federal Building on Main Street, so there were metal detectors to go through. (Fun, fun!) We found a parking garage a couple blocks away; not too far of a walk, but it ended up costing us $8 to park there :wacko:

We were about a half hour early, and the office refused to let anyone in until 8 am on the dot (Yeah for beurocracy!) So we had to wait outside...

And then wait some more inside the office...Thankfully we were one of the first ones there, so we were all done in about an hour and a half. A lot more people showed up not too long after we did, so the waiting room was quite full.

We had to got and check in at a window, present Chris' passport and the appointment letter. They gave us a form to fill out, then it was back up to the window. The guy at the window gave us a little attitude when he saw that the address Chris had written on the form wasn't the same as on the letter, but after we assured him that we'd filed all the address change paperwork he said that was all he needed to know. He gave us a number, then we had to wait to be called up.

The actual fingerprinting/photo part only took about 5-10 mins. I had to wait in the waiting room while Chris went back to get it done. But after that we could leave!

And then it was one to Ikea!! :)

I had my biometrics taken today it was not long at all... I'm wondering how I can find out where my case have been transfered?? I see some folks being happy to be transfered to CSC what does that mean???

You can go here and create a customer portfolio account, and add the case numbers from the NOAs you got.

where you can just check on status of an application. Just use the NOA (I-797) receipt numbers.

General consensus seems to be f your case is transferred to California Service Center is that it is a faster turnaround for the issue of your Greencard and in most cases negates the need for an interview.

I read somewhere about MSC meaning Missouri Service Center but that it is really the NSC or National Service

Center. They said they still use MSC but it is not really in Missouri.

Also, do they do biometric appts on Saturdays or just M-F?

Some have biometrics on Oct 25th.....a Saturday.....??

Is that right?
