Just a quick question...At our interview, the IO kept our I-797C Request for Applicant to appear for initial Interview letter( I-485 ). Is this normal? We made copies of it before the interview, but they kept the original and never gave it back to us. Will we need that document later on?

Can ANYONE please answer this question???? My OCD is kicking in big!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

At our interview, we handed the I-797C in at the reception desk, and never saw it again.

Thank you so kindly for answering me, JERIII ! I appreciate that. Same here, we put ours in the slot never to be seen again. Didn't know if this was normal procedure or not.

Well, how I do it is go to the prompt where it asks you if you are changing your address. There you will listen to a bunch of babble but stay on the line cos it will connect you to a live person.

Thanks for the tip! I m going to try!

But it s weird... What if you want to call to report that your file is out of the processing time? it has nothing to do with a change of address! Before there were a special custumer service for that.... Are you sure they are not going to hang up on me if I call for sth else than a change of address?

So I called USCIS to know where was my I485... Because last December I called and they told me it was in Denver, and in January when I went for my infopass for the EAD the lady told me that my AOS was still in Chicago

And so now apparently my AOS is Denver, but he told me it wasn t at the local office, but at the National Benefit Center ?? I thought the National Benefit Center was in Missourri? Since when is it in Denver? Can someone help me to see what he meant?

He also told me that they are going to send me a letter telling me what was the processing time...great!

According to their website, next week I will be out of the processing time, they d better hurry up!

lucie&damon, Im still praying for you....and Nick and Laura , TRELAWNY PARISH, and all of us who are left in this confusing limbo.

I got busy last week and contacted my Senator. I think it's better than waiting around a year or so for USCIS to get off their butts and actually do something. Either we are approved or not.....JUST FREAKING TELL US!!

Yes, you can travel because basically that is why you were approved the AP. My husband left last month and is due back this weekend using his AP. It is there for people who's adjustment of status is pending. 0nce your GC arrives, your AP and EAD becomes null and void. Also.....

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

lucie&damon,Thank you! We pray for this. The Senator said that we should hear from his office in or around 30 days. Any news on your end?
