Nothing updated on our account since September when they received our petitions. We are still stuck in limbo and those darn background checks. Sigh. Still no word about that. My husband did indeed return home Saturday and will have to use his AP to get back in the States. I hope this will not be a problem, seeing that his GC decision is still pending. As of today, we don't know when he will be back....weeks? months? but not more than 5 months. Being separated like this sucks.

Hard to believe we were finally APPROVED, and the card is in hand!!

Went away for Easter break, and it was waiting for us when we got home.

Naturally, just like with the K-1, we are one of the last from September to be approved. But it's done now. Feels good to be done with this process for a while.

My only real complaint is that by the time they got around to looking at our case in March, I had just been laid off from work, and the Affidavit of Support was no longer valid. We got an RFE, and supplied a new form with a sponsor and that was that.

Good luck to all who are still waiting. Hopefully, it won't be too long!!

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On April 24, 2009, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

Finally the long wait is over...almost. Here's hoping the card arrives soon!

BH45, thank you kindly for your thoughtfulness. It is much appreciated. I have no news to report. My husband went back to Egypt last Saturday. He hopes to be home here soon. Meanwhile, I got so pissed last night I contacted our Senator to find out why most of our journey has been in background check hell and to inquire what is going on with our case. I know I should probably have waited, but dang this process!
