Still nothing :(

What's funny is there are two other people at my job that moved from Canada to the U.S. on a K1 visa around the same time I did. Small world.

My biggest worry is that I won't get my green card before the one year anniversary of my medical in Toronto and then I'll have to go and get another one done. :(

I also really really REALLY need to get my drivers license.

Let's Keep the Song Going!!!

Hi laura,

I hope everything turns out well for you, I haven't been reading the post much but I was just curious why can't you get your license? did you have one in Canada? if so you may be able to just go ahead and get your foreign license transferred to a state license. The EAD may be enough proof for them to do that.

If I'm reading this right you're in NJ so check this out to see if you can get it now

http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Licenses/LicensesNon-Citizens.htm

I live in WI and I thought I had to take a road test and everything, but I went in with all my info and was able to get a license rather quickly, no tests or anything, they took my old license though. Now I have a temporary license, but when it expires I can go in with my greencard to get the full deal. It doesnt expire until 2011. Hope that link helps, good luck!

Laura, just to confirm the documents you'd need for a DL:

EAD

Marriage Certificate

Social Security Card

Bank Statement or Utility Bill w/ your name or a first class mail doc from federal, state or local gov't (to prove you live at your home)

(I also brought my NOA's I suppose that counts as a gov't document though)

the link has a neat tool that lets you select what documents you have and shows you a point system and you'd need 6pts to qualify. good luck again :)

Hello Everyone!

Quick update, sorry i didnt write long before now, after returning from my trip i travelled again...lol, been having fun

Welcome note/ approval notice and green card was sitting in mail got it out on the 20th.

Dont know how long it was sitting there though. But i see that it was returned to sender as they mailed it to the old address even though we had made a change of address ages ago and then mailed back again all by themselves, with no update from CRIS.

It was originally mailed 3/3/2009.

I think they got issues..so more patience people. I know its hard.

Envy me thanks for the chart, still aweome almost completely blue! wow!

Congratulations to y'all with approvals and recievers of cards.

To those with upcoming interview like you my dear Nagish and others Goodluck, My non stop prayers goes with you.

Really nothing to panic for though we worry anyway.

I'm still trying to curb my internet addiction, also trying to get my nursing and midwifery certificate & license evaluated here so i can write the board exams and work, they make the whole process so hard!

Il still be here and hope y'all find time even in your busy schedule to drop a line or two every once in a while.

Jkevs where are you? lol... whats going on with you now that the green card is there?

How about you Vida and my very many friends? Hope life is treating y'all well

All the Best my friends... God has been faithful.

P.S

My birthday was 27th so Nagish and my friends y'all still need to wish me a belated one! LOL.

Hi beautiful years...heheh im so glad i got the chance to open vj now....so sorry if i havent been visiting here lately...life has been so busy lately heheh...i start working already...i got the job i wanted and its n my field...i am so happy and my husband too...thats why its so busy already...but i will still visit here once in a while....

I knew it that when you come back you will have ur GC, i have no doubt about it. hehhehehe....I will look forward for your plans of getting your certificate and of course a good paying job soon....you deserve it girl.

Same as you i will pray for nagish too...is she done with the interview? My prayers are for her. i know she can make it...sometimes we worry so much.

The interview is Tuesday....2 more days. I will write about the experience either here or make a thread. Im having an outpatient procedure Thursday, and my husband is leaving to go back home on the 18th. He doesn't think he will be back for another 5/ 5 in a half months. I don't know how Im going to cope. This long process has all but whipped me. Physically, emotionally....I have no strength left, really.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I apologize for not having been here in so long. I've been very busy with my new job and some other things that have been going on. But I received my green card in the mail 4 weeks ago on March 7th. So that makes me very happy. I have nothing to worry about for a while. Plus I have a job and I am making money so it all worked out in the end. The end result was worth all of the trouble and the waiting. For those who still don't have their green cards, I hope you will get yours soon so the wait can be over for all of us.

Hi Nagish....!

I rushed here this early morning after saying a prayer for you, my husband said whats the rush i said my friend is having her interview today and she worries!

It's well my friend, i hope you see my good wishes before leaving, if not until you return!

Now i wish i had your phone number!!! I would have called early to wish you well and ask that you relax, cos we both know it ll be smooth sailing and that what we are experts in is finding things to worry about... Get through this immigration process today first then we can worry about him leaving and you coping later. For now GO GET YOUR GREEN CARD.

Pls recheck your documents, be calm, answer that which you have been asked only, provide only informations that is asked of you.

Most special is let the love you both have for each other shine through, thats whats real and most convincing.

All the Best my dear and losts of love to you!

Regards to your husband.

Hi Jkevs,

Glad to know you are ok and yes i'm Aries, so we are birth month mates...lol. when was yours?

Tell me about how time fly these days! LOL... it runs faster when you want it to slow down, its been same here.

Miss you here you know, but its good to know we check in one our vjay every once in a short while to see who's here and whats going on, plus we still have to encourage the others yet to go for interviews or get their documents completely.

Our chart looks pretty and is almost completely blue thanks to Envy me.

Maybe we should exchange phone numbers so we can talk every once in a while when we can't come online. Pm me if you would want to have mine.

Oh i jumped in too this early to wish Nagish a good one!

Thanks Jkevs for remembering me and do take care of you and your husband!
