September AOS filers

Hi fellow VJ's! Good news! I got my greencard yesterday. I was surprised because i didn't have any email message saying that my aos application has been approved. Even the uscis website said its pending. Im so glad that it's finally approved.

Hello Everyone!

I'm back from my brief holiday was nice and exciting to be with family again and sort of short too!

As for immigrations, i had no problems using my advanced parole....

As for my status still remains same since 27th and i think its weird... says card production ordered since 27th, no new touch or update

Question.....

Do you think i should make an inquiry as to that? or just wait?

Im so glad to hear from you, WELCOME BACK! So nice to hear that the trip went really well!

My GC was approved Feb. 13, then i got the welcome letter on Feb 27, it was dated Feb 17 postmarked Feb 18. GC was received on Feb 27. Maybe those dates could help you estimate your expected time of receipt of the GC. You can also use the time frame of those who dont have interview just like your case. You didnt receive anything in the mail while you were away? During my interview it says 4 to 6 weeks, then the letter said 2 to 3 weeks.

Hope you will get it soon, so that our happiness will finally be complete.

Im sure nagish is very happy for your return.

I finally received my interview letter. It's scheduled for May 6th! Thank God!

But I haven't still gotten my EAD. It's been a while.

well we finally sent in our rfe last week, and thank god because the deadline was today.

one problem though....

adriano went for his medical last week in ny, and this doctor's office was the most disorganized, least friendly place i have ever been. i was about to lose it SEVERAL times while we were in there. the lady would have sent us off with an UNSIGNED form (in a sealed and signed envelope mind you) if i hadn't mentioned to her that my husband didn't sign the damn thing yet. the instructions on the form specifically said to WAIT until AFTER the physical is complete to sign it.

ANYWAY, after we mailed it off, i realized that i didn't fill in the box with his A# (partly my fault and partly because i was so rushed in that doctor's office). do you think we will get another rfe for this? i really really hope not.

Waiting, waiting, waiting.....hope GC comes soon. I called USCIS today and they filed an inquiry for me with CSC, said that I should hear in 45 days. Grrrr! . I really hope nothing is amiss at this point. I have heard nothing from them since it was transferred. I guess I'm officially outside the processing timelines now. Its annoying when they update their processing dates on line while people are still behind them.

Rupa, I see you're at the top of the list now, but don't worry, look how similar our dates are. I'm sure your card is making it's way to you as I write this.

Keep thinking positive thoughts people. I told myself I'd get my card two weeks after envy, and I did. In fact it came 4 days earlier! So hang in there and keep sending USCIS positive vibes

Congrats. My wife and I also just got home from our trip to San Antonio where I had my AoS interview. And actually I wouldn't really call it an interview. It was a verification of information for us. I think it was just a formality, even though we've both been worried about it for last few days. He went over the 485 application checking off stuff when he asked them, asked where I worked, if I'd done drugs. In the beginning he asked me to surrender my EAD and passport/I-94. I think we were in his office for no more than 10 mins. Near the end the most beautiful line came out of his mouth;

"I'm going to go ahead and approve your case".

He stamped my passport with the 1 year GC and said I should wait about 2 months before calling USCIS if I hadn't received the card by then. And lucky for us, we will have been married for 9 years this October, so we were issued the full 10 year GC instead of the conditional. So dealing with Immigration stops for us now. I will probably end up filing for Citizenship in a few years time anyway!

Congrats to everyone else getting approved!!! One question: how long is normally taking to get the GC in the mail after being approved??
