September AOS filers

So.. my interview was this morning.

Yes, I looked at the date wrong before, it was supposed to be 02/03, not the 2nd.

My field office is in San Francisco, and our appointment was at 9:45 AM. We got out of the house a bit late and had to catch a cab since I wanted to be there at least half an hour early.

When we got there, the line was long. We later found out that it's because of the security process, since we had to put all our possessions through a scanner and the metal detector kept going off for my husband, who was on the verge of stripping in front of everyone, lol. But we managed to get there 15 minutes before the interview.

When we got to the second floor, we were told to sit in the reception area, and we had to wait for about 45 minutes before my name was called. Our interview officer led us through this maze of offices before we went into his office. We had to swear ourselves in before we sat down.

Then he started asking questions about our information, such as name, birthdate, address, etc. Then he asked me the "no" questions before proceeding to ask about the details of our relationship. He was particularly interested in how we met, and our dynamic with each other's families. In the end, he asked for further proof that we're living together, he took our joint bank statements, pay stubs, some more photos and letter from our landlord. Then he left us by ourselves while he stepped outside for a bit. When he came back, he informed us that my permanent residence is approved and for us to wait for it in the mail. Then he printed out a piece of paper that pretty much said the same thing and congratulated us again and then we were free to go.

The process took only about 15 - 20 minutes. My husband and I were not nervous at all during the interview, and I think the IO can see that. We joked around and chitchat with him a lot too, he was very pleasant to talk to. It's amazing that it's such a smooth process even when we filed everything ourselves without any help from immigration attorneys.

I guess now we just have to wait for the GC to arrive. The IO didn't mention anything about removing conditions, and it wasn't mentioned in the paper so I'll be waiting to see how long I have to deal with this process again, but at least it would not be anytime soon, which is great. I really appreciated all the Sept. filers' support through this process, you guys were awesome. I hope your journey was as smooth as mine, and that your naturalization process is without any trouble.

I haven't posted much on here and periodically check here to see what's going on. It was transferred in November 2008 and we were touched on 1/12/09 saying that the paperwork was at the place it was transferred to. Is anyone other than us having trouble with getting anything done since our paperwork has been transferred to the CSC?

Mine is the same way, I expect that the CSC folks will be hearing something soon. Hang in there!

Hey!

I finally got an CRIS email saying that my GC production had been ordered!! I have been approved!

My interview was on november 20th, and the officer didn't approve because they lost my brown envelop.. She told me I would probably have to retake a full medical examination... But apparently, since then, they found it and they were just waiting for my fingerprints to be processed... It took a while (over 2 months), I even had to get another bio appointment, but no other med examination or anything else!!

Yeah!! I hope they will send it to me soon....

Soo happy!!

Now I really have to find a job!! There is nothing available with this terrible economic situation....

Oh well, step by step right?!

My interview is this coming feb 13 day before valentines day, hope everything will be ok too just like yours, so we can totally celebrate the Valentines Day..heheheh

btw i hav a question, regarding the letter from the landlord what is it?

also, can you give me an advice for our situation, actually we moved in to the house of our family friend and we dont have a contract or any lease agreement but we are paying rent for the space we are occupying...its just a verbal agreement since its a close friend...what do i need to show in lieu of the lease agreement?

Congratulations on all of your approvals.

The thing with this process is that, eventually they will get to every body's files and each one of us can look back now and see that all the september filers on here have now received some sort of email of their approvals or their case being transferred some where else. So this is just human nature for us to panic and think that something is wrong with our files while in the meantime it will be dealt with in due time. I am sure the february filers will panic as well when the 2nd and 3rd month rolls around and they haven't heard of anything.

This process is like a human rollercoaster.....what a rush.

I got my second card production email today for my I-765 (EAD) so maybe I'll receive the card before the end of the week even though our interview is next tuesday.

I will keep you guys posted as well.

don't mean to intrude on your thread but some of you have been approved, and I wondered if you could tell me if you got the tb skin test done or not. And whether you got RFE if you didn't supply one?

I will be heading to USA soon (k1 visa) and not sure if to just get the 1-693 done by civil surgeon (transcribe vaccination record) or if i will definitely have to get the tb skin test done also? I had an xray taken at my medical for tb just recently. This part of the process seems pretty confusing and there is conflicting information on what should be done.

Hey Yall

I got a tip for you all:

To get our interview I had to call USCIS and tell them that we have to leave the country and that we are affraid that the interview might be scheduled when we will be abroad. So we put a service request and they asked us sooo many question why we are doing so. Then a week later we got the LETTER FOR THE INTERVIEW for march 4th.

Our reason might have been good since they accepted it! YAY

Yeah, a bunch of us who were transferred to CSC got touched on 1/12... no word since then, but a few approvals have rolled in since 1/12 (none before that), so hopefully they're working on us finally!

I recently got approved wthout an interview and I didn`t have the TB skin test done, just the X rays while in Belgium.

Neither did I get anything transcribed. My medical and vaccination record were complete and I handed them over in the

big brown envelope at the POE.

I read a lot about the new requirements ( my medical was dated after June 1st, so new rules would apply to it)

I didn`t get any RFE and got approved sooner than expected after being transfered to CSC.

But if you`re still in your home country, I would get the skin test done, just to give them what they want.

Anybody else have some advice on this?

We just got an email saying the green card has been ordered and it should arrive within 3 weeks.

Hopefully it will be within 2 weeks!

It looks like things are moving along.

I will let you know as soon as we get the green card!
