I'm getting worried again, no interview date fixed cos my case was moved to CSC at same time no touches, nothing since last yr after biometrics and january the 12th.

I got my second "card production ordered" email for my EAD on thursday, so my card should be in my hand soon

I went the next day to my DMV to renew my learner's permit so I start learning again how to drive. Hopefully it won't take too long before I can drive!

Concerning jobs, I stopped looking for jobs because we put on offer on a house to buy, but in order to have a good loan with a small down payment to pay we need to earn less than a certain amount of money a year, but if I find a job we are over this amount and we will have to pay like a 15,000 to 20,000 dollars down payment!! and of course we can t afford that...So I ll need to be a little more patient...

I hope you'll get your card soon and start to live again

If neither me nor my hubby have a police record and were never arrested, do we need to bring a statement from the court stating that we have no record?

Or can we skip that part?

It seems to me that we don't need to bring anything but I'm not 100% sure..

YAY!!!! We had our interview this morning and everything went smoothly. My husband and I were very nervous about the interview but our IO was very pleasant and did not give us a hard time. We were in and out. All she did was go over our general information Names, DOB, Asked me a few questions like have I been arrested, Am I apart of a terrorist group, espionage which she laughed about and said sorry but we have to ask...of course I said No to all. Then she said I was APPROVED!!!

She didn't even look at our supporting documents that I had brought with me, since I had already submitted them when I applied for AOS. She did look at our Wedding Album and loved it! She told us that I'll receive my green card in 2-3weeks.

She did say that our next interview to lift the conditional permanent residency in 2years will be a lot harder and to start preparing documents with both our names on it. But for now we are soooo happy and relieved!!! Goodluck to everybody else with their interviews!

I'm pretty sure you do not need to bring anything if you have not been arrested or convicted of a crime. We had our interview today and I have a police record that I gave them at the interview for DUI in my home country. She kept the document to put into my file but did not ask me anything more about it. I was worried that I could be denied because of a very stupid decision I had done in my early years. Luckily, our IO was very understanding.

Hello all - greetings from St Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Quebec! Hubby and I have been visiting his parents for just over a week now - we go back home in a couple days. It's nice here, but cold!! Even I, a native Michigander, have been cold! Perhaps living in Kentucky has made me soft lol Although, apparently we picked a good week to leave the South, as Kentucky got one of the worst ice storms on record while we were gone. Hopefully we will return home to an undamaged car and an apartment with electricity...*crosses fingers*

Anyway, just got a coveted CRIS e-mail that says our case has been transferred to the local office!! At least it's no longer gathering dust at the NBC! Hopefully this means an interview soon!

Oh, and while we were here in Canada, hubby got his driver's license renewed, as it has been expired since October. We found out that in Kentucky green card holders don't have to take the road test, just the written and eye test, so we're waiting until then to get him a local license.

It feels kind of good to circumvent the system. After all, why should the illegals have all the fun?
