September AOS filers

I have a question for those who took an infopass appointment in the past.

Its been two weeks that I try and there are never no appointments available...

Did you guys select : you need help on a case that already been filed. And then clicked on EAD inquiry.

OR

you need information and other services ?

When I do the first option there is no appointment but for the second one it looks like there is.

Should I just click on the second one. Cheat a little bit, but not really since what I want is info about what's the heck is going on?! lol

When I booked mine the woman who told me to make the booking told me to select information and other services. I also hadn't been able to make a booking for weeks and this way worked fine. They never mentioned anything to me about it at the interview either.

Same situation at my office and yes, I'll be using 'info and other services'. Someone told me in another thread that it really doesn't matter which one you choose in any case - an appointment is an appointment

We received 1 bio appt letter which listed for both (AOS & EAD) in there.

Yes J.kevs... I hate the waiting. Sleepless nights, anxiety and hope everyday when checking the mail, hoping that somehow Uscis would send the welcome letter to mail box without updating the website or reversed!

But what can i do? wait some more, try to smile more so my face doesnt get wrinkled and floss at night to wash away the curses muttered under my breath when my husband says sorry sweetie...there's no mail for you today! And those teasing touches..... every once in a while without change in message...hmmmm @#$#@$@, ok il go floss now.

Thanks guys for your answers! I followed your advices and chose info and other services. I have an appointment on Friday at noon. Hope I will get some answers to my questions...which are basically: Why, Why, Why God, why?! lol

It's true, I don't understand why it takes so lonf for my EAD to be approved, I didn't get any RFE to slow down the process, no biometrics problems, my AP got approved on time, my AOS is in Denver...So what's wrong with my EAD?!

No it will cover only your I765.

You should get another one soon, or ask for the AOS one at an infopass maybe...

hurray! your biometrics letter arrived! This is like what happened to me but I only received the biometric letter for the I-485. I set up an infopass appointment on the same day and right after my biometrics appt and they were able to give a walk-in form to do the other one. Hopefully, your ASC isn't very busy and that you can get an infopass appt on the same day.

You can also let the people at the biometrics office know that you're expecting two biometrics letter (esp. since the I-765 is based on the I-485 application) but there's no guarantee that they will be able to help you.

my EAD arrived in the mail today. yey! I can finally stop worrying. They can take as long as they want on green card (half-serious).

aomary: I see from the table that you had your AOS interview but no date on your biometrics entry. Let us know how they were able to sort that one out.

Also, I tried to log in to CRIS today and after the first attempt (and I entered the password correctly), the login failed and it said that my account was locked due to several unsuccessful attempts. It may be hard to believe this but I haven't even been on CRIS since Dec or Nov 08. How do I resolve this issue?

oh, definitely go to your Jan 21 schedule, even if it ends up doing only the I-765.

Standard IT practice for these sorts of lockouts is that they automatically release after a given period of time (a couple of hours or days). I honestly have no idea how you could get it unlocked if it doesn't happen by itself though. You could call MisInformation but I'd happily wager money that they wouldn't even understand what you were asking, let alone how to help you.

You could try creating a new profile and seeing if it will let you associate your receipt numbers with the new account? Oh, and pick a complicated username as well as a complex password. The last thing you want to be is 'johnsmith' when 'johnsmith1' is trying to remember their username and entering anything that sounds half right
