Hey Guys,

I haven't heard anything on my case since it was transferred to csc but I thought I'd share some cool news,

got my married name SSN in the mail today, and I also applied for my DL - and I didnt have to take a test... they just transferred my canadian license... I studied all night and day thinking I'd have to take a written test and a road test... guess I'm lucky.

Congrats on SSN and DL. I know for us Canadians it's easy to get DL. I still have my Quebec DL and plates, even though I've been living here since '05.. :blush: Oh well, I guess I'll have to get on that soon now.

Question to everybody: Do I need to apply for a new SSN card once I get the GC? My SSN says 'valid with work authorization only' or something like that. I think I read somewhere that Social Security automatically gets updated by USCIS and sends a new card soon after GC.

Question to everybody: Do I need to apply for a new SSN card once I get the GC? My SSN says 'valid with work authorization only' or something like that. I think I read somewhere that Social Security automatically gets updated by USCIS and sends a new card soon after GC.

they said u have to go back to SSA ofc to have that note removed since you already have your GC..

Everybody else, keep hope. Us September filers seems to be getting processed in a fairly timely manner. If your status doesn't get updated online, don't panic. You might get a notice in the mail soon!

Congrats NAO,

I am sure it feels great holding that physical card. I am still waiting. No news. I contacted Ombudsman last Tuesday, so I really hope I get some answer on Monday.

Got a letter from USCIS today. I was so excited, I ripped it open right at in the mail room!

But, more disappointment :(

In some instances we have established separate processing time goals following certain kinds of actions. In this case, the case history indicates that the appropriate processing time benchmark is the response to the request for evidence recieved on 10-17-2008 and the normal processing time is 90 days from this date. This case is within that normal processing time. If you do not recieve a decision or notice of other action within this time, check our website for an update or call customer service at the number provided below.

This is so f$&^@*ing rediculous!!! That RFE was for a form with the AOS application! The only thing it had to do with the EAD was that they were filed together!!!

Why do I always get these noticed on Saturdays so I have to wait two days to even call and complain???

So beyond pissed right now...and feeling very, very stuck. 'Cause it's not like we can just quit or use another company - we're stuck with this pain-in-the-a$$ inefficient government #######!!!

Got a letter from USCIS today. I was so excited, I ripped it open right at in the mail room!

But, more disappointment :(

In some instances we have established separate processing time goals following certain kinds of actions. In this case, the case history indicates that the appropriate processing time benchmark is the response to the request for evidence recieved on 10-17-2008 and the normal processing time is 90 days from this date. This case is within that normal processing time. If you do not recieve a decision or notice of other action within this time, check our website for an update or call customer service at the number provided below.

This is so f$&^@*ing rediculous!!! That RFE was for a form with the AOS application! The only thing it had to do with the EAD was that they were filed together!!!

Why do I always get these noticed on Saturdays so I have to wait two days to even call and complain???

So beyond pissed right now...and feeling very, very stuck. 'Cause it's not like we can just quit or use another company - we're stuck with this pain-in-the-a$$ inefficient government #######!!!

but hopefully they won't proceed it in 90 days though! they'll work on it soon I bet! Don't lose courage!

Thanks :) Guess I'll be calling them again on Monday...hopefully that all get straightened out. At least if we do have to wait, the 90 days are up on the 15th of January, so it's less than a couple weeks away...
