Update:

i went with my husband for his Infopass appointment as it is 98 days and still no EAD.

they didn't really give us much news or hope to hold on to...

all she said was that they haven't made a decision on our case yet; that she would send them an e-mail to open up and look at the case; that they would contact us by mail. i asked if there was a problem with our application, and she said she couldn't tell either way... she said they could still reject the application, if they wanted... :unsure:

then she had me double-verify our address. for some reason, they have us down as New York, New York, instead of Brooklyn, New York, which is infuriating, considering how many times i've had to give them our address these past few weeks. :angry: she said she'd ask them to correct it.

so, that's it.......

i hate them...

Hello September Filers,

A bit of info needed if that's OK. I applied for the EAD/AOS/AP back on October 4th - had the letters, biometrics etc done already.

We got an RFE late October and sent it back but it was November 20th before they got it onto their system - two weeks after it was sent back.

Anyway, just wondering if any of you guys had a similar experience - RFE-wise - and when we could expect to see our EAD at this rate. The spreadsheet you guys have here seems to show no-one had an RFE - go figure.

When I called them for Interim EAD, I was told I will get response from them within 5 days. I got an email today stating that they are still working on it and I will get the response within 60 days from today. I am like #######. It has already been 90 days and they want 60 more days. I have never seen such a incompetent agency. It is an immigration office of USA and everybody would imagine that they should be advanced but they are slower than snail.

That is crazy that they need another 60 day?! The I-765 is like a two-page application... if they didn't find what they were looking for the first 90 days, what more could they want? I don't understand why they don't want well-intentioned, legal immigrants to work and pay taxes... :wacko:

I know it is frustrating. I have an infopass appointment with them on Friday. I wish my application gets approved by that time. I am also thinking of writing to Ombudsman or my local senator.

I had an RFE as well, you can see those with RFE's on the spreadsheet are the ones with a red "*". My case didnt get updated for a couple weeks like it got put at the back of the queue or something... but then my case was transferred to csc and I recieved my EAD. so don't give up hope, if it takes a really long time then you can always make an infopass appointment.

Yes, we also got on RFE, and it usually takes them 1-2 weeks to update the system, but our case was also tranferred to CSC and Ricardo already got his EAD and AP docs so don't fret too much :) if it's been over 90 days then you should call them or do an info pass appt (i think it's 90 days, I'm not too sure) but it seems like you're "within the timeframe" for ppl who have had RFE's

AOS:

August 8, 2008: We're married!! (both the ceremony and legal wedding)

September 11, 2008: Got the marriage certificate in the mail!! 

September 20, 2008: Sent AOS packet (I-485, EAD, AP)

September 22, 2008: USPS confirmed delivery at LockBox

September 26, 2008: Check Cashed!! :)

September 25, 2008: Recv'd date on all NOA's 

September 30, 2008: Received all 3 NOA's: I-485, EAD, AP

Ocotber 10, 2008: RFE for I-485 (needed proof of citizenship for sponsor) :S

Thanks guys.

It's frustrating that all the people who applied after us have gotten theirs - and I do mean all. Was wondering if you guys had had the same frustrations. Yesterday, yes Sunday, I was made a job offer by one of the biggest firms in the USA for a job in my field I applied for back when I had my 90 day working visa and now I gotta go talk to them and say that my EAD hasn't arrived - so frustrating.

Just remember that the number of people on Visa Journey is not "all" the people that applied for AOS in any given month. This is just a small sampling of people on here.

I bet that there are LOTS more in your situation. They are just not on visa journey.

Congrats on the job too!! Think of all the people that still don't even have a job or are

in an area where there are minimal opportunites.

All things will work out in time and will happen when they are suppose to happen.

It's funny how little control we have over everything......darn it!!

and also, they're not doing it on a first come, first serve basis.. IMO..

as what i always say.. i think it's mostly case to case basis.. ;)

PS: i have my EAD but i dnt have a friggin job! :angry:

I think it's a matter of which employee goes in the bathroom storage area and picks up a file or two.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
