September AOS filers

ok today marks the 90th day from my NOA for my EAD. My husband has to "BEG" to conference me into the call so they can put on a request. They gave me a reference number for the request and the interim EAD is part of that request. The rep also said I am approaching to 90 days (emmm, he doesn't know how to count 90 calendar days maybe?) and nothing can be done.... then i speak up and said it's dec 18th, 90 days since the NOA was issued.... and then he gave me a service request and saying that it will take up to 45 days for a response....

i hope it wont take a full 45 days for that....

and i also read from you girls/guys that the interim EAD will be issued within a week from the day u file for service request, where did u get the info...

You should receive an EAD or response within a week." but when I pointed this out to the woman yesterday, she told me that I got a response and that response said "You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter." and it hasn't been 60 days yet. She also said what you were told, that the service request and interim EAD were tied to each other, so either way the waiting time for the interim and for the actual EAD is about the same (why do they have an interim then???). So for me at least, having gotten a response to my service request has only resulted in me having to continue to wait. At this point there is nothing more I can do, I can only hope that something is being done about it now. I hope you have better luck.

I was told first that all my papers had gone to CSC, but the person was so rude and when I called back I was told only my AOS had been transferred, the others were still at MSC. I'm guessing the second more helpful person was right!

This was touched today...... . Still nothing in the mail. I wonder if it is touched when the mail arrives at the local post office

Yes, we got the EAD and AP on 12 /12 . Still waiting for the interview appointment letter to come. My husband is going back to Egy March 15th. We kinda want the interview over with by then, but who knows . Look who we are dealing with, after all. So...........

At least you got your EAD and AP, so that's two down and one to go! Hopefully, the gc comes quickly, too.

So far, no reply to my Service Request that I put on 12/8....

AlHayatZween, we are doing everything we can at this point.

I think we are handling this situation very well.

I always get encouraged when I see everyone keeping their positivity and hope.

So, let's stay positive because I believe that positivity brings good outcome.

people apply for AP just so they can go outside the US while waiting for their GC..

yeah, im 99% certain that you can leave and come back with your greencard. you just have to be sure you don't stay out of the country for too many days so that all of the time you've been an LPR counts toward the time you need to be in the US as an LPR before you can apply for citizenship. i probably said that in a really confusing way...but there are all these requirements about how long you can be out of the country when you are an LPR. I bet our September filers who have been approved for their GCs would know more details.....

That was my initial thought, but somebody asked me this question, and then I started to be unsure

I didn't know about the 131 when I filed my AOS, so I didn't file it, and now I started to worry that I couldn't go see my family until I get my real green card some 2 years down the road.

yeah, im 99% certain that you can leave and come back with your greencard. you just have to be sure you don't stay out of the country for too many days so that all of the time you've been an LPR counts toward the time you need to be in the US as an LPR before you can apply for citizenship. i probably said that in a really confusing way...but there are all these requirements about how long you can be out of the country when you are an LPR. I bet our September filers who have been approved for their GCs would know more details.....

Just figured if I needed the AP, I should apply for it sooner rather than later, since I have heard the processing

time for AP now is 180 days.

Getting soooooo sick of waiting!!

Still no touches, nothing. Tomorrow we're calling USCIS again to inquire about our AOS, since it's been 90 days already. The weirdest thing is that we've gotten our AP, but somehow they seem to have forgotten completely about our AOS and EAD, even though those were both filed first...#######??

What do they do at that bloody place, anyway???

Just noticed...today is the eleven-month anniversary of filing for the K-1...and of the beginning of this long and agonizing process of being jerked around by USCIS.

Actually, today hubby and I were looking for a place to have dinner and we drove by one restaurant where there was a Homeland Security guard vehicle in their parking lot. We had great fun screaming at it, saying how much we hated Homeland Security and how miserable they've made our lives...quite cathardic, actually!

ok, this is sooo weird, after our first call to USCIS, our AP gets approved (along with an update on their website and an e-mail alert), then today after a very frustrating call to USCIS to request for an interim EAD, at 8:15pm I got this e-mail:
