hey! I have a stupid question! How do you know if your case is at NBC or MBC?...if there is a way to know of course...

Where I read the status of my case online,

there it says - my case is currently at NBC

There are no such thing as stupid questions ;)

your case is at MSC/NBC unless you're notified that the case's transferred to CSC or local office.. IMO.. ;)

thanks for the answers guys! ;)

But the thing I am wondering is does anyone has on their page " your case is at Missouri service center"? Me it says NBC, does it mean that my case is in Chicago?

Mine doesn't say it (it says MSC), but one time when I rang up someone said to me "your case is at Missouri service center". You can always ring them up and ask. :star:

Hi again,

I got an email today about the service request I put in, it said bla bla bla:

The status of this service request is:

Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Just to be clear, is under review and pending the same thing or different? I'm at day 94 and counting :clock:

Nao, I hope you get a better response!

Hi kiwibecka.

I am so sorry about their totally useless response...

I am not sure whether under review and pending means the same thing....

I will let you know as soon as I hear from them.

By the way, could you make an infopass appointment?

If nothing works on the phone, I would go to their local office and see them in person.

You can tell them that you filed a service request and got a useless response.... and you need AP ASAP cuz you have a plan to go back home and have waited enough.

So...funny story.

Hubby and I are visiting my family in Michigan this week, and yesterday we went to the public museum in Grand Rapids. Interestingly enough, they happened to have an exhibit about immigrants to West Michigan - apparently there are more than just Dutch people here :)

As we were leaving the exhibit, we happened to look into one of the glass cases, and there - staring right back at us was an Employment Authorization Card. Just sitting there. Mocking us.

We wanted sooooooooo badly to smash the glass and grab it!!!!

Oh, and hubby alo wanted one those huge "Welcome to America" certificates that they had on display.

And his loaf of bread, 36-star flag, and "Vote Tammany" card.

(Extra points to those who can guess the movie we're referring to! hehe)

Hi Folks,

Just thought I'd get this month's thread going. (Hope one hasn't been started already) My AOS package was in the mail yesterday. (Just couldn't get it together in time for August) Best of luck to everyone else and hopefully no RFE's!

Rupa

Top of the day,

Infact it's my first time of going through all these and to be real with you. I came into the STATE [uS] on May this year and things never been the same it was when she visited me in Nigeria. 'm a rugby coach back home before I quit and came down and ofcourse she don't want me to pay the tickect and she did, now 'm thinking maybe that's why 'm going through these.

Ever since I was here, she's been complaining that 'm not eating what she cook but this shouldn't be harsh on me cos most of my foods back home was rejected by her and she called it ''horrible'' . Sure we got married in June and she used to keep my letters away from me saying that '' it's all junked, after all she paid for my ticket to be here '' she never allows me to talk to my manager or friends back home, I hardly spoke with my family back home [ parents ] I can't respond back if anybody says ''hi'' to me cos she'll be mad. She said it to my face that '' If you think in anyway you're getting your paper file , you're just wasting your time '' and she later says it's because she was angry that 'm not holding her or talking [ we're at the greyhound bus station in Virginia at the time ].

No stable place, we're just traveling around and besides 've travelled more than people that has live here for twenty years!

've being to Virginia from here [ New York ]. Virginia to Maine [ at motel 6 with her two sons '' keith-22yrs/Dylan-17yrs '' back to Portland in motel 6 and we ended up at her ex husband cos they all said [ mother & sons ] '' this is not their father '' there's a good job and I moved with them. We ended up sending out of his house though I figures some kind of game between them. I was helped with transport by some Nigerians down there and able to buy my own phone cos despite keith telling her I needed a phone, she never respond until August 06th,2008. And I got kicked out on August 15th cos I called my own mother back home [ $2.00 international call ] As of now, 'm in shelter [ Many story to say ] 've being to DSS and they put me here [ for two weeks, since Dec. 5th friday till 19th friday ] .

I was at Immigration Office that friday and they asked me to write how we met and all, and I did. They felt sorry and said they're going to follow my case and b'cos of my situations, they printed out the forms I-360 [ AMERASIAN ] . Infact they gave me some lunch [ was shocked and I appreciate that ]. A lot to say, I keep going back based on her email sent to me saying things will be fine but it keep getting worsen.

Thank you for been there.

A friend from VisaJourney.

Hi Nao,

Well it seems that maybe it's not so useless. I just called and they said it means that it's being worked on now (not just sitting in a pile). So that's good. Unfortunately it was for my EAD and there is still no word on my much wanted AP, but I think I'll wait a bit longer before making an appointment. Would be nice too if they didn't have such an attitude in their voice, I can almost hear their thoughts of "you should be greatful you're here at all".

Anyway, I hope you get some news soon ~and for you too Maeve, that must have been a real killer seeing that card just sitting there!

I don't know what I can do know... everyone is laying off in my field... not a good time to hunt for job....

Who is your sponsor in the I-864 form? If you didn't include your salary to meet the poverty guidelines you should be Ok.... In this scenario, losing your job under H1-b is similar to the H1-b person that quits his/her job and decides to work on his/her EAD card

Hi kiwibecka.

It is great to know that under review means more than pending. :star:

I bet I will receive a similar e-mail. So, when I receive it, I will also call and double check that it means that they are really working on it "now." (I just do not trust them. )

Some Sept. filers got their EAD and AP approved at the same time, so let's hope it is the case for you. :star:

Regarding the appointment, you can cancel it at any time. :) So, keep checking and if an appointment is available, you should make an appointment anyway. Infopass appointments tend to be filled up quickly (that is why we get the message that there is no available appointment time at this time) . So, it wouldn't hurt to make an appointment now (Most likely, they have dates available through the 23rd since it seems like that they will be on vacation from the 24th.) and use it or cancel it if you need to.

I already made an appointment on the 22nd (past 90 days period). ;) If I receive an approval by then, I will simply cancel my appointment. If not, I will go to an appointment and handle it before they are on their vacation.
