No it's not just for biometrics. I put one in too because I've been waiting over 90 days for my AP and EAD with no news. If you've had no touches or news or anything at all, or if your case is outside the current processing time you can try asking them to do it (pray you get someone nice!). Otherwise you can always just call them up anytime and ask them to check the progress of your case, they'll tell you it's either been approved, they need more info, or as is usually the case, that your case is still pending. Calling can be good though because if you're like me, you may not be able to check online, or as was the case with my K1, my case said pending even when it arrived in the post.

The question still remains however as to whether this service request actually does any good!

Well, after receiving my EAD card last Friday, I received my interview letter yesterday! The appointment is on February 24!... and for the people who haven't received the appointment letter... be prepared! They ask for a lot of papers (Besides the ones you already sent)! I will post the list later... Thanks envy_me for your effort with that update line your update every day. By the way, my case is at NBC, so you can change my color to orange. B) .Thanks everybody!

not sure. I guess it can also apply for the EAD and maybe even for AOS interview, but the 'normal' processing time for the AOS interview balloons anyway.

Got my first AOS touch on I- 485 todaysince October after it was transferred.

I also got the second notice of EAD card production as below:-

Application Type: I765 , APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On December 8, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

So hopefully it would be mailed out soon.

Well... my cases were at NBC, over there, my EAD and AP were approved, but of course the interview is on the closest place to my home, which is Newark... so I guess I'm between purple and orange (Brown?? ) hahaha... I will post the list as soon as my wife come home... she has the car and I forgot last night all my papers in the car...
