Can you use the AP document over and over or is it a one time use thing???

I thought it was a one-time deal...but the wording on the document is a little cryptic:

Travel Authorization: Presentation of the original of this document authorizes a transportation line to accept the named bearer on board for travel to the United Sates without liability under section 273 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (Act) for bringing an alien who does no have a visa.

Parole: The named bearer of this authorization is an applicant for adjustment of status under the Act. The bearer departed the United States temporarily and intends to return to the United States to resume processing of the adjustment of status application. Presentation of the original document prior to (date) allows a Customs and Border Protection Inspector at a port-of-entry to parole the named bearer, whose photograph appears herein, into the United States based upon urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benifit. This authorization is valid for multiple applications for parole into the United States during the validity period noted above. Each parole period shall not exceed one year from the date of parole at the point-of-entry.

I heard that one of these copies got confiscated at the border, and you get to keep the other one...so maybe it's only good for one trip...But I guess you can geet another copy or something if you need to?? Idk...so confusing.

I see someone has there case at local office, some at MSC/NBC (where my case is)

and some is at CSC.

Congratulations everyone on their approvals. thank you for your great work envy_me, you truly have the best table on VJ. Your effort is much appreciated by everyone. I haven't been on for a while and I am still waiting for my AP and EAD. No touches since my biometrics. The wait is so painful. I want to work so bad. Its so hard on just one income. I hope I get some news this week.

I have a question. When do you guys calculate the amount of days for your approvals. The 90 day time frame, when does it start. Is it when they received your package? Just wondering because I want to call them but I want to see when do they calculate that 90 day period from.

Another random question. My AOS case is still at the NBC like a previous poster. Is it typical that a case would stay at the NBC instead of being transferred to the another service center? Also, if it doesn't get transferred, then which processing date should I be looking at, for when my AOS case should hopefully be looked at?

I figure I won't hear anything till late January/February... but hey you never know right?

I think Boston is one of the businest field offices. if you are not getting a transfer to CSC, you will get a interview. i waited almost 4 months to get my interview letter. so don't feel frustrated if you don't hear anything from them in the next couple months.....just be patient, and you will get something at the end...good luck

Hi Laura,

I read another post somewhere where a lady used her advance parole several times. the way it works is that you get two duplicate copies. you show both to customs upon your return, they keep one and stamp the other. You can keep using the stamped one until it expires, for making multiple entries. I also saw someone give the advice of making a copy of your AP also, just so you have an extra on hand. I'm not sure what they do if they have to stamp it mltiple times for multiple visits, but hopefully the green card won't be too far behind. Hope that helps. Sorry I can't find the post I read it in.

Still nothing on the EAD or AOS, tho No touches for almost 2 months!! How long do you have to wait before you can start bugging USCIS?

Hey well done, that's great! Well I haven't had any touches at all (and can't even see my AP ~they're "having problems right now" ha!) and at day 86 they weren't interested in me bugging them. But I say bug them as much as you want, it can't hurt any. I plan on spending every day after my 90 days bugging them until I see some results. I thought I'd see what they have to say about this from their website:

If Your Case Is Outside Our Current Processing Time

The processing times that we publish let you estimate how long it will take us to process cases filed before yours, and then process your case.

If you don't hear from us within the normal processing time, check for updated processing times on our Web site.

If at any point your case is outside our normal processing time and you haven't received a written decision or update from us within the last 60 days, you can help us by calling Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 and letting us know. We will research your case, see what needs to be done to get it processed, and get back to you with an explanation.

If your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, has been pending longer than 75 days since you filed and you have not received a request for evidence or missed a scheduled appointment, call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. Please note: The time between the mailing of a request for evidence and receipt of your response by USCIS does not count towards the 75 days. A missed appointment restarts this 75-day period.

Anyway good luck, we'll get there, kicking and screaming if we have to, but we'll get there!

I think you all already know... but.... After 90 days, you can make an infopass for EAD. Upon making an appointment on infopass, you can select you have been waiting for EAD over 90 days as the reason for visit. I am not sure if it helps, but I will do this anyway if I do not receive it within 90 days.

I've just gone and followed the steps to make an infopass appointment just to see when I could get an appointment time, and it says "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later."

Oh no! Looks like I'm stuck with the call center after all, at least for the time being. I hope you have better luck with your office if you end up having to make a time.

Everyone, guess what?

I got a email from CRIS and my EAD and AP were approved!! I can't believe it!!

The approval date is yesterday (Dec 5). I didn't check email last night because I was very tired, but I wake up this moring very early and I couldn't sleep back, so I checked email and found those two mail!!!

But I still have a question. What happend to my bilmetrice? I haven't recieved my biometrics letter yet. I hope the approval notice says something about it.

Anyway, I'm so excited!!

wow! congratulations! I guess there's hope for me still? haha. I still have no idea where my biometrics is. I was able to put in a service request for the missing biometrics but other than that, nothing much else. I have to wait for the 75 day / 90 day time point to call again.

Personally, I count from the time they received my application shown on the NOA.

Hang in there! I haven't been touch either since my biometrics. But I think it's normal, the next touch you'll get is to tell you you've been approved Hope it will be soon!!!
