Hi everyone,

we just finished our interview about an hour ago. Basically the officer just reviewed our documents, asked my wife repeatedly on two things, came into the country on B2 (which she was then it got converted to an H1b) and if we were married for less than two years. Then he asked us for joint documents and gave us a paper that says continued for service action telling us to do an infopass i-751 in 21 months because we will need to have the conditions removed for the green card to make sure that we are still married (the exact wording states and adjudicative review of your case is needed. ) he said that he will review our case this afternoon and he doesnt see anything wrong. he never asked us any personal questions like how long have we dated before getting married because i really wanted to tell him that weve been together for almost 11 years now. he also gave us no chance to volunteer such information anyway but that may be a good sign because the less you say is better right? he gave us a copy of the notice and told us to come back if we did not receive a green card in 31-35 days.

now my question is, is this a good sign? (im confused)

Hello everyone,

I got my EAD in the mail Finally and got my AP in the mail on thursday. And I have the interview tomorrow morning? My birthday was on FEB 3rd as well and I hope this month will be a month I will remember for ever. I hope the interview goes well and I can get my approval tomorrow.

I am scheduled to have the interview on March 11 of this year. However I just renewed my passport because it will expire on April. I will have the new passport by the end of March.

My question is-- Is it ok to bring my old passport (with the holes since its no longer valid) or do I have to call to re schedule the interview?

For those who had their interview done. Did the Immigration Officer looked for the passport? Do we have to submit it like when we had the K1 interview?

I also know that their will be a I-551 stamp. Is it really necessary?

I will really appreciate whoever can enlighten me with these queries.

Good for you! you had it renewed already! I had my interview on Feb 4 and my passports expiration is Feb 28..whew! Just in time for the interview or I might be going to New York for renewal since I heard they no longer accept mail applications.

The first thing the immigration officer asked was my passport. She looked at it and took the I-94 in it. She returned it after though.

You can tell them the truth about your passport. It's always a good thing to tell the truth,isn't it?

I wasn't given a stamp but I was told that I was approved though that is all that matters. I read somewhere here that they no longer stamp the passport anyway.

B) I'm just looking for good news... B)

Hello Everyone,

So before I head to bed for a nap, I want to write you guys about my interview today. So we had the interview at 10:00am here in Helena, MT. Very small office. So we got there about 30 minutes early. The night before I put everything together that we could possible think of. All our documents, I went to kinkos and made copies of everything, anything you can think of. So we had about 3 folders of documents plus our photo album.

So we get called in and the officer was a very nice lady and she welcomed us with a very nice small, (while I was thinking it will be this totally no smile, no hello kinda guy). She took us to her office which was very cozy (which again i was thinking of a 4x6 metal cell with metal chairs, lol) She told us she will be the officer examining our file and if we could raise our right hand up (which my wife put up her left first so we had a little chuckle which broke the ice). So we were swore in and we sat down.

She pulled up our file and looked through it and asked us very very general questions, such as what is her parents name, she asked my wife, what is my parents name. When did you get married. Very general questions. She then went through the file and asked us for certain documents such as our passport, my birth certificate, divorce decrees and we presented the original and she compared them to the copies she had and would check everything off and give it back to us, very quick I might add. then she asked me a few questions regarding if i ever did any criminal activity in any other country or were involved in drugs or trafficking and questions and then oh ya, she asked for our marriage certificate which I could not find and just when she was about to say well, you have 30 days to bring that in to us and I was so disappointed and my wife told me to look again because she was sure we put it in one of the folders and we looked again and there is was and we were so glad we found it and that made us all laugh again and I handed it over to the office and she too a copy. The atmosphere was so calm and our officer was so nice that we never felt threatened or panic mode every (thought many websites, I have read make you believe that is what happens).

Then she asked us about any joint documents...which we gave our lease, utilities, bank statements, car insurance, health insurance cable and phone and after I handed those over..............She told us..........

"Well, I am going to go ahead and approve your file"..................and even before "your file" when i heard approve I had a monkey dance and yell in my head like the simpsons movie when marge is talking to homer and the monkey is dancing in his head and then the monkey is like hey, and points to marge and homer starts to listen again. So then she told us about removing the conditions and how to do that and gave us a form stating that....... and then she congratulated us and that was that...........

We are so happy. My god.............YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Also she asked if we I had received my EAD which I said yes and gave her my EAD and AP so she kept those and said we should get the car in 3 or 4 weeks or maybe sooner............so hopefully sooner because I start work in March.

So to everyone waiting for the interview, just be prepared as we were, take what ever you think is evidence and be very organized so when the officer asks for something you have right there for them. Also make copies of all the original documents because they might keep it as evidence of your marriage. I even had 2 affidavits and she did not ask for them so I even forgot to mention it.

Also don't let other website scare you, the officer will get a feeling of your marriage being in good faith or not, if you are truly married in good faith just be yourself and you don't have to worry about anything.............We weren't even nervous the night before because we had everything so well organized in our folders and we played Wii all night actually......................

sounds exactly like what we went through although our officer was not as personable. same documents were asked and he did not say that we were approved. he said he was going to review it in the afternoon and approve but does not see why he shouldn't. then he said since weve been married for less than two years that we had to file an i-751 to make sure we were still married. i hope he did approve us though. i think we got the same form you did. congrats to you though!

I had my interview today and I was approved. I even got a stamp in my passport because I needed it for my chauffeur license. The interview took about a half an hour, it started in time, and the lady officer was friendly but firm. She asked us some general questions about our relationship (when we met, when we got married, how long we lived together), our jobs (what we both do) and asked for proves for bona fida marriage. She even looked through our photo albums. At the end she told us that we will receive the welcome letter in mail soon and the green card in less than 3 months.
