Good idea, Precious, we need a distraction to stay away from USCIS website, which i just got off of and no updates... :blush:

But Wow!!! Your Christmas pudding sound amazing! A lot of work... good for you!

For me, for the holidays, i'm mostly planning for Eid al-Kebir (the upcoming Muslim holidays in early December)...

unfortunately we can't go back to Morocco b/c of $$ and no AP---and we are not really organized enough emotionally or financially to go anyway...

So we are currently looking for where we can purchase a live sheep in Brooklyn :blink: for the big event.

and i'm busily trying to figure out how i'm going to grill all this meat to make an authentic Eid al-Kebir??

It should be fun though!

And I thought I had a lot of work, but grilling a sheep?! Mind you, the meat tastes great.

Don't they have a Muslim place in Brooklyn with a big grill where they will do that for you? :star:

I must say in wisconsin its a lot colder than vancouver, BC. not really used to that at all. My husband got a kick out of me trying on all the huge winter coats (I'm kinda short so it was pretty amusing to see a small person in this huge coat that's got like 3 layers).

I'm in Wisconsin too and I can totally relate to what you're saying. It gets a lot colder here than in Holland as well. My husband, stepson and I went winter coat shopping for me just the other week. I'm not short, but it was still weird trying on these huge jackets and my husband and stepson seemed to think it was funny watching me try them on. I think in the end I found one that looked OK on me :)

Hooray! My hubby got his EAD today! Only 55 days from filing! AND! The USCIS Case status online thing didn't update until today, even though the card was approved on 10/27. Very exciting! Hope you're all doing well!

04.15.2008: NOA1 Receipt received for I-129F

07.14.2008: Received NOA2 in mail.

08.19.2008: Embassy appointment. Visa Approved and is in the mail!

08.28.2008: My girl is home!

09.05.2008: I-485 package (I-765, G-325a, I-864) sent to Chicago Lockbox.

09.11.2008: Package received in Chicago.

09.18.2008: Received I-765 Receipt and I-485 Receipt in mail.

09.22.2008: Biometrics scheduled for 10/4.

09.30.2008: A touch on the I-765 (EAD application).

10.29.2008: Update on website they received evidence and case continues.

12.09.2008: Received e-mail the EAD has been approved and a letter has been sent.

12.13.2008: EAD ARRIVES! I can put my girl to work! :-)

12.16.2008: eL applies for Soc Security card.

12.23.2008: eL receives Soc Security card!

03.27.2009: Petition to Change Status to Permanent Resident interview.

04.04.2009: Welcome to the United States of America letter received!

04.08.2009: eL receives her Green Card.

09.16.2009: Filed for divorce. Things were not as they seemed.

i'm slowly loosing it and right now i honestly wish i was back home, i feel like going back home! :crying:

It's just sad that they would keep us this way....

After all the stress and hurry to file....

I'm really tired of waiting now... checking uscis over a million times daily with silent prayers that i see a difference and still its sad, words can't express how sad i feel this morning. :crying:

p.s.

i've limited checking USCIS to the afternoon hours only, b/c if they are anything like me, they are slow to work in the morning... :whistle:

I hear ya on checking too many times a day...its very disheartening when you look and its just the same...case recieved and pending......COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :angry:

But do you remember that feeling when the noa2 came? The day that status line changed?

Damn that was a great feeling, the assumption that it would be the same again and then seeing a different date.

That's what I'm waiting for!

Although a small part of me gets that excited when checking the mail, just in case they didn't update online!

I just checked my e-mail today and - I got an e-mail at 11 pm yesterday saying

"Application Type: I765 , APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status: Card production ordered."

07/17/2008 - POE Washington D.C. as an F1 visa student (had an F1 since 2006)

08/22/2008 - married a very charming and gorgeous USC

09/02/2008 - mailed my AOS submission with EAD and AP (i-130, i-485, i-131, i-765 together to Chicago Lockbox)

09/04/2008 - AOS submission received and signed for by V. Bustamante

09/09/2008 - checks with fees for i-130 and i-485 cashed

09/12/2008 - NOA1 arrives in the mail (i-130, i-485, i-131, i-765 one each), notice dates 09/09/2008

09/13/2008 - Biometrics appointment letter arrives in the mail. Appointment scheduled for 10/01/2008

09/15/2008 - Walk in biometrics successful! Biometrics done.

09/25/2008 - i-130, i-131 and i-765 viewable online! i-485 not viewable - showing a Validation Error.

11/13/2008 - i-131 (the AP) touched online! i-485 still not viewable

11/13/2008 - i-765 EAD card production ordered - online notification! Yay!

11/15/2008 - i-131 AP comes in the mail! It was approved on 11/12, not updated online yet.

11/21/2008 - received an e-mail from CRIS that my EAD has been mailed.

11/22/2008 - receive EAD in the mail

12/12/2008 - received the letter scheduling the interview with USCIS

02/05/2009 - date of the interview, green card approved!!!

weird, I just tried to check my case and when i get to my portfolio and click on a reipt number all it does is put a check mark in the select bix.... maybe this means they are updating my info? Maybe it mean they are having a problem?

WOW! I was just getting ready to ask if anyone else had this problem. I checked at 7:00am and I was able to view the status. But now I can't!!! GRRRRRR :crying:

.....and yes....I also check about 20 times a day.
