*ignore that last post because we got our NOA today!!*

I think our case is at Missouri? Also had to send our RFE there...Is that good? bad?

If the receipt number of your NOA starts with MSC, then yes it is in Missouri.

I'm totally confused about this whole process...Our case is in Missouri, but we have to go to Cincinnati for the appointment?? Is this normal? Does it mean that maybe we've got a chance at going to the CSC? Or is this bad news?

At least with the K-1 your stuff was in one of 2 places...here there's no telling what to do. :(

As far as I can ascertain (and any1 please let me know if I am wrong) Missouri is the National Benefits Center. I don't understand why we have to mail to the Chicago Lockbox if it's going to get sent to Missouri. Anyway I think the reason why it gets to sent to MSC because they process the EAD (I-765) but so do most other offices and service centers. So I don't know the thinking behind transfer of the cases and where they go...........Who knows!

Didn't you used to live in Cincinnati and the moved? That's probably why you got the bio appt there, unless you send in a change of address form.

I'm also not sure how they determine whether the I485 goes to CSC or not. When I filed the I-130 last year it was transferred there. From what I've read in most cases, it's a good thing if it goes to CSC since it is processed faster and most applicants don't get an interview, just approved.

Love the website, btw.

The location of your biometrics appt has nothing to do with where your case is currently being processed, nor does it have anything to do with whether or not your case will be transferred to CSC.

They will set you up with an appointment at whichever office is closest to where you live. If you have an appt in Cincinnati and you live nowhere near there, then they probably made a mistake. The appt should be in your state, or somewhere outside of your state that is within a couple of hours from where you live. You shouldn't have an appt that is an extraordinary distance from where you live, and if you do, I would call and have them fix that.

When my husband went for his biometrics, it was in a small office that only had three or four people working there. All they did was take pictures and fingerprints. I doubt if the workers there are immigrant case workers (the type who accept or reject applications), and I also doubt that they know anything about our case as a whole. They do not have your case file in front of them, they just know that they need to take your picture and fingerprints. I'm sure it varies slightly, but I am sure that in most cases they will not be looking over your case as you get your biomeds done, because your case file is somewhere else, in an entirely different location.

Removal of Conditions NOA: 2/24/11

Biometrics Appt: 8/15/11

ROC Approval: 9/30/11

Card Production Ordered: 10/11/11

Card Received: 10/15/11

We're not that far from Cincy; it's slightly further away than Louisville, tho. Plus L-ville is in state...I guess not much happens at that office. From what I hear Cincy is pretty efficient...plus it's near Ikea! :)

Too bad we can't jsut send in fingerprints - I work at a police department, so i could get hubby's done for free! Such a hassle to drive up there for something so silly.

i was just wondering if anyone's online status changed after biometrics were completed. we recieved a touch on both aos and ead apps, but no status change (just received and pending...), is this typical?

thanks!

We got touches right after our biometrics appointment was completed and then again the next day with no status changes. When our case was transferred to the CSC, we also got touches the day it was transferred and the day it arrived.

I, too, had a RFE, and we recently just mailed in the additional evidence. In less than 5 business days you should receive the actual letter detailing exactly what you will need to send in. Could be anything really, medical record, taxes, birth certificate... Sometimes they request things you've already sent (so I heard), so don't worry just yet. It happens more common than you think. Hang in there!

Well I guess I don't have to worry much, I looked at the forms that we sent and realized that there is a line on the Co-Sponsor form that says that we have to include evidence of citizenship by sending in a BC, passport, or naturalization certificate...........and guess what I forgot to tell the co-sponsor..... oh well, I already contacted the co-sponsor and told her to please send me a copy of her passport.........even though I haven't recieved the RFE notice yet, I have a hunch that that's what it is, either that or they want us to resend info.........but if you say that it happens more often then I think that gives me peace of mind (I think) My husband says to be patient to see what exactly they want....I'm trying but I can't! LoL We didn't even get an RFE for the K-1, but then again, it's USCIS

It's great that you are being proactive about this. Could very well be the cosponsor's birth certificate or passport to illustrate her citizenship status. Cool. Keep us posted, and good luck! In the meantime, yes, just take your husband's advice and try to be patient and wait for the letter. Seriously, it happens a lot, and it's not a big deal!
