Hi Guys,

I am new in this journey and let me tell you a little tip I was told by an immigration lawyer. If you guys sent you $455.00 payment for the K1 using a personal check, and if you can access a copy of your cashed check online for your bank, on the back of the check you will find the receipt number. I bank with bank of america and I was able to get the receipt number from a scanned copy of my check, even though I have not received the NOA1 on the mail yet.

For instance I mailed my application on sept 17th next day delivery, they received on the 18th, cash the check on the 22nd so now I know my receipt number and have been checking my application ever since. I know for sure that the application was registered on their system on the 19th, and touched on the 23rd and the 24th of this month.

just my two cents...

Unfortunately, this only seems to work for some banks and not all. My h2b could access his account online but the cashed cheque did not have any references with it. But at least we knew that the NOA1 shouldn't be far behind as they accepted the cheque. I hope you can get the reference of the cheque though... it reduces the stress of waiting somewhat :)

Good luck on your journey.

He banks with USAA so I'm not sure. He said he can always call them up just to check if there are any reference numbers on the back.

That's good news. I was just thinking that it might be faster that way then wait for teh letter from Vermont to arrive to Bahrain. It seems it usually takes about a week to get the paper copy. So it's likely it'll arrive next week.

Good luck. :)

The mail is a nightmare, it's been taking on average a month for stuff to get to him and that's using his old station in the UK to forward stuff on. Luckily it only takes about a week for him to send stuff to me. It's ironic as he works in the central mail office which is where all the mail goes to first before going onto troops in the middle east.

yeah thats right

but it doesn't mean that they just work on petitions of Feb .

cause they already approved petitions of march,April,May and some of June 2008

but it means that they are still working on some petitions of Feb and they are not done with all of Feb yet .

thats all
